—We have a letter, from Daniel Butler—a Tioga,
Boy—ntm'in the first Minnesota Regiment, giving a
description of the battle of Fair Oaks, an account of
which we published two weeks ago. The letter is in
teresting, but’events crowd upon us so thickly that we
have no'spacs for it, its main facts having been print-
-Mr-B. saya there an other Tioga Boys in
that Brigade, bat does not mention their names.
—We learn that Dr. W. H. Daria, of Tioga, has
been appointed as Assistant Surgeon by . Gov.-Curtin,
and has gone to Harrisburg to report himself for
dutyi
—We print another private letter from Cecil A.
Deane, defending Casey’s Division from McClellan’s
charge of cowardice. Read this lojfkr and see bow
undeserved was the charge. McClellan has consid
erably modified hia first report.
—Capt. Elliott was at the Newport News Hospital,
Sick with typhoid fever, , Major Hoard and Lieut.
Young returned to Mansfield last week on a short
