lands in Chatham to their G&g Mill in Middlebury
—a distance of 7i miles, —awonc load. Our corres
pondent adds: ‘i When this_ is beaten we will try
again, tfhis is ,thfe largest load of logs ever hauled
in-the county, and if you will put a chain around the
■eccding States, the same team will haul them into
the Union again all right.”

1,020 feet of lumber wbidh wu drawn a distance of
nearly three miles, and partial the way' up-hill, by
one team .' The team belong to Mr. John Pierce, of
