Circulars - will bo sent to each Board of
Directors,' notifying them of the appointment
with them.
Will the Teachers from ail parts of t(ie
county, who intend to. teach in this county
Uie coming winter, take particular pains to
meet the Superintendent in some of these ap
pointments through as the law is
very definite, that, no Teacher shall be em
ployed in any common school in this State
wh» has not a cerlifioate/rom the County
Sooerintendenti Private examinations at the
house of the Superintendent, or anywhere,
are hardly, legal..
The Superintendent will carry with him a
supply of blanks for reports of Teachers, of
which the Directors can avail themselves if
they choose.
Ha deems it proper, also, to slate that by a
recent decision of the department of schools,
each Board of Directors have a right to fur
nish themselves with a copy of the Common
School Journal, paying one dollar for the
same out of the funds of the District. As
iheir services are entirely gratuitous, it is right
ihev should have this means of informing
themselves respecting this whole subject, also
gratuitously. The Superintendent will be
pleased to order this Journal to the officers
o f alt such Boards of Directors as furnish
mm with the means, or they can order the
same by sending one dollar to Hon. Thos. H,
Burrows, Lancaster, Pa.
The department has also recommended
that me Directors pav all postage from the
treasury of the district (or their official com
munications both to and from the County
Superintendent. Will the Directors please
notice this, as hereafter alt communications
wit go to them unpaid, and all received
(rom them .unpaid, will be charged to the
District whence they come.
