The restoration of that party—the party o f the Constitution and the Union—to power in the legislative arid executive governmental blanches of the States and of the Union, we believe to be neces sary to avert anarchy, and the utter ruin of the Repub lic. To contribute to that restoration will be our high est aim. The News, Literary, Commercial, and other depart ments, wilt receive dne attention, and will he so con ducted as to make "The Age" worthy of the support of the general reader. The many ditficlllties now surronnding an en terprise of the magnitude of that in which ke under signed are engaged, require them to appeal t 5 the pub lic for agenerous support, and to ask for "The Age" a liberal patronage end extended circulation.
