41, , ... I.BILE TRAGEDY IN BUFFALO. tri Thursday morning Moses Mern- Ard, a Frenchman, accidentally shot 'his wife wider' the supposition that she was a burglar who had entered the room. Re states that on his re tarn home the night before, he was inforniekby his wife tho some men 'b►ad ehdeavoreid to gain admission to the I:image during his absence.— She persuaded him to load his gun, which he placed' by the bedside. In his statement he says : I was wakened by some noise in the morning, and found that the light on the table had been put out. It was almost dark in the room,' but I could see some body standing be tween the little table and the head of the bed. I was so excited that 1 didn't think of - its being my wife —remembering whit I had'told her when I wefitto sleep—and snatched `my gun from the corner, raised quick ly, and with my back to the foot of the 15,6d,'fired at the shape. I didn't know Whether 1 - aimed at the head t or where. I heard a fall after I liad `fired, and getting up and slightly opening the front door to let the light In, saw it was my wife.' The curtain 'over the Window made the room so 'dark before Thss 4iScharge of the gun attracted I,hi) attention of some officers who 'entered the house. The room was a small one, about fifteen feet square. At the further left hand corner stood 'it bed, and in front of the bed, pros trate on the flock., with face down ward, lay the corpse of a . woman.-- gaff the upper part of her head was hot off, and a pailful of blood and `brains surrounded it. The wall be "side The bed; 'aboutsix feet above the floni i `wai spotted with bfains and peffofated' with shot, and a chair klireCtly beneath held the mass of "braing, that had fallen. Standing juseii4 front stood Mernard himself, . - half dr essed, , and haling trow 'sera in his hand. In the middle of the becl lay an infant SlUmbering. Merl:lard Was taken into Custody. LINDSEY'S IMPROVED BLOOD SEARCHER A STANDARD MEDICINE fur the epeedy. radical _L - 1_ and effectual cure 01 all diseases arising from This medicine has wrought the most miraculous cures Scrofula, Cutaneous Diseases, Pimples on the Fare Old stubborn Ulcers, Totter AtVectious, Dyspepsia, Jaundice, Morrurial Diseases, Liver Complaint, Low Spirits, and all D:senses originating in an Impure state of the blond: • iNO M. iRViIN THE ABOVE IS A PORTRAIT OF DA VED M'CREARy. Sworn RlBtement of David M'Creary, of Napier tp., Bedford county: In April, 18515, a 3 nenr as I can rerneinber, a sina4 pimple made its appearance on my upper lip, which soon became enlarged and sore. I used poultices of sorrel, and a wash of blue vitriol, without effect.— Finditig the sore extending, I called on Dr. Ely, of Sclielltihurg, who pronounced it CANCER, and pre s•ctibed a •VaS‘l of sugar of lead and bread poultices. Finding these remedies of no avail, I called upon Dr. Shaffer, of Davidsviile, Somerset comity, who also pronounced the disease Cancer, and gave me internal . and external remedies—the latter consisting principally of caustic; but all to no purpose as the disease con tinued spreading toward the nose. I next used a prep aration of arsenic, in the form of salve. This for a time checked the disease, hut tine indaination soon in f.; rased. I called upon Dr. Statler, of St. Clainiville, Bedford county, who also pronounced the disease Can cer, and applied a salee slid to be a never failing rem edy, but it had no effet.t whatever in checking the spread of the sore. In December in the same year, the disease had eaten away a greater part of my upper lip. and hail attacked the nose, when I went to Cincinnati where I consulted Prof R. S. Newton, of the Eclectic Medical cellege. Ile pronounced the disease 'a cu taneous CaUcer, superinduced by an inordinate use of nierrtiry.''' He applied mild zinc ointment, and gave me internal remedies. My face healed up, but the in- Hamiiration was not thoroughly removed. In February, 1857, he pronounced me cured, and I left for home. Id April the disease again returned, and so violent was the pain that I couin not rest at night. Late in May I returned to Cincinnati, and again placed myself under the charge of Dr. Newton, with whom I remained un til Setitember, during which time he used every known remedy, and part() succeeded in checking the disease, but when I returned home there were still three die clArgitig ulcers upon my face. I continued using New ton's preparations, and also medicine that I got from Dr. Ely, but the Cancer continued growing until it had eat off the left side of my nosg, the greater portion of ray left eAtek. and had attacked =Oft eye. I had given up all hope of ever being cured, since Dr. Ely said be could only give relief, but that a cure was impossible In March, 1858, I bought a bottle of "Blood Searcher;" but I must conhiss that I had no faith in it. I was very weak when I commence) taking it; but I found that I gained strength day by day, and also that the ulcers commenced drying up. I continued, and when the third bottle was taken, my face was healed as if by a miracle. I used the fourth bottle, and I have been healthier since than I have been for the last seven years. Although my face is sadly disfigured, I am still grateful to a benign Providence who has spared my life, and which has been done through the instrumentality of !ANDREI 'a IMPROVED BLOOD SEARCHER. DAVID M'CIiEARY. _ - Sworn and subscribed, this 31st day of August, A. U. 1614, before no', one of the justices of the peace in, and for the borough of Hollidaysburg, Blair county, Pa. The particu'ars of these cases—every one of which was cured by the use of the "Mood riearcher"—may also be found in a circular to be Lail of any of the agents. 4 BAD SORE LEG CURED.—littAblirZA, September 1801-1 hereby certify that I hav6 had a sore leg for over a year. It was covered with ulcers and sores so that I could not work f4r nearly a year. My leg swell , td so that 1 was unable to do anything for a long time. for at least six months. I tried several of the best dodo- tors in the city, but without any benefit; finally I called on Dr. Keyser, at No. 140 Wood street, who only at= tended toe about two weeks, and gave me bu ttwo bot tles of medicine, and I am entirely well, and have con tinued well for six months. lam employed at the Eagle Engine House on Fourth street, where any one ran see Me. THOMAS Fatima.. READ THIS CURE--I was afflicted with a horrid di !lease in my feet and ankles, so much so that for sIX weeks I was confined to my bed, and at other times to my chair, where I was compelled to sit for weeks. I was in the care Of both our eminent physicians for a tong time, hot they could do nothing to effect a cure or ease my pain. My feet and legs became very much swollen, and having heard of your Blood Searsher (although 1 had very little faith in it), I was induced by Messrs. Alexander & Son, agents at this place, to try it. I had not used one bottle before. I began to find immediate relief. I tried another, and am now able to walk about without crutches. I have tried other patent medicines: but received no benefit. I take pleasure in recommending your Blood Searcher above all others,to those who may be afflicted as I Lave been. Yours, truly, PETER NORVAL APOLLO, Armstrong Co., Pa., Dec. 12, 1859. We, the tuidersigned citizens of Apollo, being ac quainted with the facts in the above statement, teetity to their correctness. eIANCER CURED.—A letter from England, Mr. JOHN POPE, of Blaenovon, near Pontypool, !Monmouthshire, England, r% rites as follows: Flf.setrovon, Aug, 1861, Stn:—An old woman in this place has wished me to write you respecting LINDSEY'S BLOOD SEARCH ER, front which she found great benefit and wishes to have a little more.
