THE ABOVE IS A PORTRAIT OF DA VED M'CREARy.
Sworn RlBtement of David M'Creary, of Napier tp.,
Bedford county:
In April, 18515, a 3 nenr as I can rerneinber, a sina4
pimple made its appearance on my upper lip, which
soon became enlarged and sore. I used poultices of
sorrel, and a wash of blue vitriol, without effect.—
Finditig the sore extending, I called on Dr. Ely, of
Sclielltihurg, who pronounced it CANCER, and pre
s•ctibed a •VaS‘l of sugar of lead and bread poultices.
Finding these remedies of no avail, I called upon Dr.
Shaffer, of Davidsviile, Somerset comity, who also
pronounced the disease Cancer, and gave me internal .
and external remedies—the latter consisting principally
of caustic; but all to no purpose as the disease con
tinued spreading toward the nose. I next used a prep
aration of arsenic, in the form of salve. This for a
time checked the disease, hut tine indaination soon in
f.; rased. I called upon Dr. Statler, of St. Clainiville,
Bedford county, who also pronounced the disease Can
cer, and applied a salee slid to be a never failing rem
edy, but it had no effet.t whatever in checking the
spread of the sore. In December in the same year, the
disease had eaten away a greater part of my upper lip.
and hail attacked the nose, when I went to Cincinnati
where I consulted Prof R. S. Newton, of the Eclectic
Medical cellege. Ile pronounced the disease 'a cu
taneous CaUcer, superinduced by an inordinate use of
nierrtiry.''' He applied mild zinc ointment, and gave
me internal remedies. My face healed up, but the in-
Hamiiration was not thoroughly removed. In February,
1857, he pronounced me cured, and I left for home. Id
April the disease again returned, and so violent was
the pain that I couin not rest at night. Late in May I
returned to Cincinnati, and again placed myself under
the charge of Dr. Newton, with whom I remained un
til Setitember, during which time he used every known
remedy, and part() succeeded in checking the disease,
but when I returned home there were still three die
clArgitig ulcers upon my face. I continued using New
ton's preparations, and also medicine that I got from
Dr. Ely, but the Cancer continued growing until it had
eat off the left side of my nosg, the greater portion of
ray left eAtek. and had attacked =Oft eye. I had given
up all hope of ever being cured, since Dr. Ely said be
could only give relief, but that a cure was impossible
In March, 1858, I bought a bottle of "Blood Searcher;"
but I must conhiss that I had no faith in it. I was very
weak when I commence) taking it; but I found that I
gained strength day by day, and also that the ulcers
commenced drying up. I continued, and when the
third bottle was taken, my face was healed as if by a
miracle. I used the fourth bottle, and I have been
healthier since than I have been for the last seven years.
Although my face is sadly disfigured, I am still grateful
to a benign Providence who has spared my life, and
which has been done through the instrumentality of

4 BAD SORE LEG CURED.—littAblirZA, September
1801-1 hereby certify that I hav6 had a sore leg for
over a year. It was covered with ulcers and sores so
that I could not work f4r nearly a year. My leg swell ,
td so that 1 was unable to do anything for a long time.
for at least six months. I tried several of the best dodo-
tors in the city, but without any benefit; finally I called
on Dr. Keyser, at No. 140 Wood street, who only at=
tended toe about two weeks, and gave me bu ttwo bot
tles of medicine, and I am entirely well, and have con
tinued well for six months. lam employed at the
Eagle Engine House on Fourth street, where any one
ran see Me. THOMAS Fatima..
READ THIS CURE--I was afflicted with a horrid di
!lease in my feet and ankles, so much so that for sIX
weeks I was confined to my bed, and at other times to
my chair, where I was compelled to sit for weeks. I
was in the care Of both our eminent physicians for a
tong time, hot they could do nothing to effect a cure or
ease my pain. My feet and legs became very much
swollen, and having heard of your Blood Searsher
(although 1 had very little faith in it), I was induced by
Messrs. Alexander & Son, agents at this place, to try
it. I had not used one bottle before. I began to find
immediate relief. I tried another, and am now able
to walk about without crutches. I have tried other
patent medicines: but received no benefit. I take
pleasure in recommending your Blood Searcher above
all others,to those who may be afflicted as I Lave been.
Yours, truly, PETER NORVAL

Flf.setrovon, Aug, 1861,
Stn:—An old woman in this place has wished me to
write you respecting LINDSEY'S BLOOD SEARCH
ER, front which she found great benefit and wishes to
have a little more. She has been suffering from
disease of a cutaneous nature for the last six or seven
years. Her daughter, who is living in America, ob
tained it for her, and sent her eighteen bottles. She
now quite out of it, and I have written to her dangle
ter twice and have received no answer; of course she
is anxious to get more, to get completely cured. I told
tier I would write to you for the agency in this country,
and she felt very much pleased to hear me say so.
now beg to ask you pn what Mims you will supply met
you will please hear in mind the carriage, and supply
me as cheap as possible. The carriage on the one dozen
bottles was Lids 6d. The medicine was a present from
her daughter. I would like to have the Blood Search
er in ajar or small cask, if you can send it in that way,
or in pint or quart bottles. I will send a bill through
bank or registered letter, which ever will he most con
venient to you, if you will send me carrier's receipt of
the parcel as security. I would send you a swop to
answer this, In; t as it is uncertain of this reaching you,
on account of the' country being in sixes and sevens, a
term which is commonly used, you will be kind enough
and charge me with the postage. Yours, respectfully,
