    HARVEST HYMN
BY GEORGE 1). rra:NTlcr.
A t Carmel's mount the prophet laid
His offering on the altar -stone;
And tiro descended from tho skies,
And round the holy altar shone ;
AndlMoyhert spriug went smiling past
Our offerings on tho earth were cast,
And God's own blessing has COMP down,
Our sacrifice of faith to crown.
No conqueror o'er 'our fields has gone.
Ti.) blast with war our summer bowers.
And stain with biota/ of wo and milt,
The soil that ,s , :yeth life to flowers;
But mornitw dews evening rains
Have fallen on our beauteous plains,
And earth, through all her realms abroad,
(Ayes back the image of her God.
Erigtit with the . Autumn's rid - tests tints.
Each hilt lifts spits head on high,
And spreads its fruits and blossoms out,
An offering meet beneath the sky ;
And hill, and plain, and vale and grove
Join in the sacrifice of love,
And wind, and stream, and lako, and sea,
Gift high their hymns of ec e tacy.
it is the festival of earth—. .
The flamo of love o'er nnture brrna,
And to the holy heavens goes up
Like incense from a thou:mud urns ,
And oh, let man'e iMpssioned poi o,
With nature's self iu song rejoice,
Until tho blended notes of love)
Ring from the templed-arch above.
A cure for Ilydrophobla.
