ARNOLD, fifute&nafe JEREMIAH Z.BROWN. AwcmMy-S. S. TOWLER. County Treasurer S. M. HENRY. NOW IT'S A NATIONAL ISSUE. Campaign literature under the "frank" of National Democratic Chairman, Senator Jones, is being mailed all over this State, and is be ing distributed in this county. If this is not a campaign of national is sues why does the National Demo crating Camtnittee take a band i i it? Let uo Republican be hoodwinked 1 y the wiles of the Democracy. The arch enemy is trying to sneak in un der the canvas. Don't he caught n p ping, but get out'and vote the ticket straight from Col. Stone down. Get out the vote. Keep in mind that next Tuesday is the day of all days for the Repub licans to get out, and do their duty. The Republican ticket is going to win by handsome majorities all round. Keep this in mind. Get out the vole. Republican, do yonr duty next Tuesday, and then be on hand when the shouting begins. It's i oming our way by a large majority. Col. Stone will have a clean hun dred thousand plurality in Pennsylva nia. Get out and vote and share in the glory of a magnificent victory. Republicans will not stay at hoire next Tuesday. Lies and slanders will not win in this campaign and the whole Republican ticket will land with good majorities. Major Brown, the gallant veter an, will go to the S ate Senate from this district if the Republicans do their duty. He is forging to the front at a great rate, and will come in a winner. Get out the vote. Vote the straight Republican tick et, as follows : Stone, Gobin, Latta, William W. Porter, William D. Por ter, Grow, Davenport, Arnold, BrowD, Towler, Liudsey, Ilenry. And you will feel better after having done so. Hall and his friends are offer ing to trade any part of the Demo cratic ticket for a vote for Hall. This is the same old gag, and won't catch any honest voter. The entire Repub lican ticket is going to be elected. Don't trade. There aie no State issues that the Republican party canuot handle ranch better tban the Democratic party, and there are no National is sues that the Democratic party can handle at all without bringing bank ruptcy in its train. Boodle will not elect Hall to Con gress. The people of this district are not of the purchasable kind. Con gressman Arnold has made a most brilliant record and the people are not goiug to turn him down simply because bis opponent has great wealth. Mr. Jenks captured Philadelphia last Tuesday evening, shouts a Dem ocratic exchange. Col. Stone will capture the staid old city next Tues day evening by about 100,000 major ity. The Democrats, like the aver- ago "pot hunter," always do their "capturing" before the season is open Let no Republican absent himself from the polls next Tuesday. Make every vote count. The traducers of the party should be taught a lesson for their treachery, and given to under stand that Republicans are united against their wily old Democratic emy, whose cloven boof is plaiuly visible iu all these slanders. The Hall blatherskites of this dis trict are still circulating the oft-exploded lie that there is a Republican paper in Elk county supporting that candid. te for congress. The paper referred to is the rankest of Bourbon sheets; never made any pretention toward Republicanism, and is con trolled, bi,dy and breeches by the Hall ring. On the principal that a lie well stuck to is as effective as the trut.i, they will likely keep it up till Hall is politically wiped ofl the earth, which he will be on the 8th inet. Money won't buy this district, aud outside i'f Elk county, coercion aud bulldozing don't go. 4 skV 3IAJOK J. Republican Xomince and Xext Hall's pa'd agents are sneaking l'. rough the district attempting to sow seeds of disonrd, aud telling at the same time what good Republicans they have always been. The "thing" who will lend himself to such dirty work is not a Republican ; no, not even a decent mugwump. Give him the run wherever you meet him. Disappointed office-seekers, who are traveling over the county telling what good Republicans they have been and askingynu to join them in knifing the party should be given the run wherever they stick up their nose. Give them to understand that the party of Lincoln, Grant, Garfield and the great hearted McKinley has no ')se for renegades. The Democratic leaders all over .he district are said to bave plenty ot Hall money, and it is just likely they'll hold onto it. Monty won't buy the 28th district. It will give Mr. Arnold, the champion of the la borer and pensioner, a larger majori ity than ever. Hall and his methods are booked for a Bound threshing by the honest voters. Get nut the vote. J. K. P. Hall may be able to get a majoiity of the votes in little Elk his own county and the county be owns, but outside cf that, where no body baB a string to the voters, Hon. W. C. Arnold will beat him nut of sight. We cannot afford to give President McKinley a Congress whose chief ambition would be to em barrass the administration. Clarion Rep.' Gazette. Samuel Henry is one of the clean banded, capable and honorable can didates on tbe Republican ticket this fall. Mr. Henry will rr.ako most efficient, obliging and careful County Treasurer, who will be the sami after election as he was before, courteous ".nd pleasant to all. Sam is the right man for the place. Give bim your support and you will never have oc casion to regret i'. Let every voter remember on election day that the Democrats op posed the issuing of interest bearing bonds to prosecute the war. Clarion Democrat. But let every voter remember that it was the Democratic party which issued 826,0002,000 interest-bearing bonds in timo of peace, and then vote to keep the reins of government in the hands of the party which has never made such a consummate ass of itself. 'Twould be laughablo if it wero not so ridiculous to hear how friendly are candidates George A. Jenks and James K. Polk Hall to the pension ers these days. Where were these great patriots when the old soldier was earning bis penbion ? aud where were their sympathies then? Better trust these matters in the hands of those who have always shown their friendliuess to the veteran and not to those who have never shown any thing but scorn for the veteran ex cept about electiou time. Du. Towler has an excellent rec ord to his credit as a legislator. None better. In every sense ho is a moral, upright, aud honorable citizen, who stands highest in the estimation of the people where best known. Hundreds will testify to his liberality to the needy poor, to whom he has given thousands of dollars worth of medical attention without receiving or even asking or expecting pay Or. Towler has been a large employer of labor during his residence in this county, having at one timo been largely enpagod in the lumbering business. Not one of the men that ever worked for him will now go back on hiui. This shows what they think of him as a friend of the laborer. A rote for him is a vote for an intel ligent, careful, and conscientious rep resentative in the legislature; one who can aud will take a leading psrt in all matters that come before the House. . .
