JAMES I. WOODS,
Chairman Republican Co. Com,
TllK question as til whether citizens
have a right ti remain iu a room
where the vole is being couoteJ after
the poles close has been decided by a
Pittsburg judge. On the evening of
the last election a number of citizens
appeared at the polling place at Mc
Keesp'irt and demanded admittance
into tlio room while the count was be
ing made. This was refused, where
upon the citizens broke open the door
and entered. When the case rame
up in the court, the judge instructed
the grand jury to ignore the bill,
holding that the men were acting
within their lights as citizens, in ac
cordance with the law, to be present,
outside the guard rail and in sight
and hearing of the election officers
while the ballot was being counted.
According to the Oil City Bliz
