Clark, of Tionesta, a business man well known iu the Oil Region, is of ihe opinion that an ex cellent quality of iron may be made from bog ore, using natural gns for fuel. He sayt there is large deposits of ore, both bog and kidney, all through the oil country, notwithstand ing they were extensively worked mauy years ago, and with natural gas in limitless quantities he believes the iron industry may be revived and a new Oil R-giou bnuanza opened up Mr. Clark said to the Derrick tbat he had recently beeu making tumeexper i men is io Tionesta and bad succeeded in making a fiue quality of iron. He had been talking with Mr. W. J. Young and other Oil City business men on the subject, aud they were of the opinion also tbat there was a pos sibility, with the aid of our gas, to re vive the lost art of iron making tbrongb tbe oil countries. Mr. Claik taid there was no limit to the amount of ore that could he had in Forest, Warren, Venango, Clarion, Armstrong and Butler counties, and be believed this was a matter well worth the al leuliou of iron men. Tbe Jury In the caso of Luther Shatter, who was on trial all last week for the murder of Isaac Colby and bis wife Nora, returned a verdict of guilty of murder In the first degree, on Friday, at Lock Haven. It was one of the most brutal murders tbat was ever perpetrated in tbat section. Three other men await trial on tbe same charge.
