Laws of Game.
The following synopsis of the game
laws will doubtless be of interest to
gportemen, who should cut it out and
paste it in .their hats :
Deer and elk Can be hunted only
between October 1st and December
loth. JSone to bo offered for sale or
had in possession out of season. Pen
alty fifty dollars.
Rabbits Can ba hunted from No
vember 1st to January 1st. For bunt
ing a rabbit out of season or having
one in possession out of season the fine
is $5. For taken with ferrets the fine
is $10 for each rabbit so taken.
Squirrels No person shall kill any
grey, black or fox squirrel except
from the first day of September to the
first day of January. Penalty five
dollars.
Woodcock --July 4th to January 1st
The penalty for killing a bird out of
season, or having iu possession, kill
ed or exposed to sale, $10. For using
a snare, trap or torchlight, or expos
ing to sale a woodcock, after taken
in such way, $10 for each bird.
Ducks and geese No web-footed
fowl shall be killedtexcept on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday, from tbe 1st
day of September to the 1st day of
January.
By the act of June 3, 1878, no per
son shall kill any duck or grouse with
a swivel or punt gun, or shall use any
device or instrument to kill or take
them except the common gun, raised
and fired from the shoulder. By the
act of May, 1883, P. L. 23, no person
shall huDt, chase or kill any webfoot
ed fowl from anv boat or craft pro
polled by steam or sail. The 'penalty
for killing out of season is $25, for
hunting with a swivel or punt gun
$10. For hunting with a boat pro
pelled by steam or by sail, $25.
Plover No person shall hunt or
kill any upland or grass plover except
from the 15th day of July to the 1st
day of January.
Partridges JUay be bunted from
October 15th to January 1.
Pheasants and prairie chickens
May be hunted from October' 1st to
Jaquary 1.

Assembly of the Common wcnlth of Penn
sylvania, entitled 'An Act to regulate tho
Elections of tho OoinnionwealHV passed
the 2d day of July, A. D., lHiiil, it Is made
the duty of tho Sheriff of every county
within this Common wealth to give public
notice ot the oeneral Elections, und m
such to enumerate :
1st, The ollleers to bo elected.
2d. Designate the place at which tho
election is to be held.

follows, viz :
"In ca-so tho person who shall have re
ceived the second nignesi numneroi voies
for inspector shall not attend on the day of
any election, then the person who slum
have received the second highest number
of votes for Judge at tho next preceding
election shall actus inspector In bis place
And in case the person who shall have re
eeived tho highest number of votes for in
spector shall not attend, the person elected
Judge shall appoint an inspector in his
place, ptul in cast tho person electeil J udge
shall not attend, then the inspector who
received the highest number ot voles
shall appoint a Judge in his place; nod if
any vacancy snail continue in tho board
for the space of ono hour alter tho time

or district for which such officer shall

of Forest county, that bv an act entitled
"An Act further supplemental to the act
relative to tho election of this Common
wealth, approved Jan. 30. 1871 :"

shall bo bv ballot : every ballot voted shall
bo numbered in the order in which it shall
ho received, ami the number recorded by
the clerks ou tho list of voters opposite the
name of the elector from whom received.
And any voter voting two or move tickets
the several tickets so voted shall e ich be
numbered with the number correspond
ing with tho number to tho name of tho
voter.. Any elector may writo his namo
upon his ticket, or enuso the saino to be
written thereon, and attested bv a citizen
of the district. In addition to tho oath now
prescribed by law to be taken and sub
orally be 'sworn or ullirmod iot to disclose
how any elector shall have voted, unless
reuuired to do so as witnesses in a judicial
proceeding. All judges, inspectors, clerks
nd overseors of every election held under
this act, shall, before entering upon their
duties, be duly sworn or allirmed in the
presence of each other. Tho bulge shall bo
sworn by tho minority inspector, if there
shall bo such minority inspector, if not,
then by a justice of tho peace or alderman,
aud the inspectors and clerk shall be sworn
bv the iudgo. Certificates of such swear
ing or atliriuing shall bo duly made out
and signed by the ollicers so sworn, ami
attested bv the olllcer who administered
the oath. If anv Iudgo or minority inspec
tor refuses or fails to swear tho ollicers of
election in the manner required by this
act, or if any officer of election shall act
without being duly sworn, orif any olllcer
ol election shall certify that any olllcer was
