Iismarck is discouraged by the
.condition of his health. He says he
iea not ihtnk lie will ever cuter the
Ueichstag again,
Tiierk is a strong suspicion I hat
our Democratic House ot Representa
tives is becoming overheated trying to
keep up with the Republican Senate's
reform measures.
Two hundred people of Indiana
county, including ministers and dea
cons, have been ppeeulating in grain.
One minister, two deacons and tweuty
one others are now bankrupt.
On of forty six States and Territo
ries, only eight, namely, Maine, Con
necticut, Idaho, Nebraska, New Hamp
shire, New Mexico, New York and
Washington Teritory, have laws
whereby an honest debtor can be im
prisoned, Governor Foster, of Ohio, gives
(he wise advice to the Republicans
that in nominating candidates for the
Legislature this year they avoid pledg
ing them t vote for any particular
aspirant for the Uuited States Sena
torship. Name the best men, elect
them and trust to their good senso.
The mouth of February appears to
have givea to the country five of its
most distinguished citizens: Horace
Greeley, Alexander Il.Stephons, Abra-
ham Lincoln, George Washington and
Henry W. Longfellow,, iu the order
e uanaad. It was also, on February 1st
i that 'Washington was first elected; on
I the 4th the Confederate States oruan-
f -ized, and on the. 9th their Congress
' Vint. ';
.'.--i
'fv . Congressman Randall is quoted
. as predicting that the Democrats will
; be defeated in 188i if they defeat the
j tariff bill now pending in Congress.
f Mr. Radall ha$' an elongated cranium,
s but the descent to his diminutive came
' is not very deep in this instance. The
! Democrats will .be defeated in 1884
under any circumstances, and .the de-
teat oi tne a arm bill ' now will give
j them something to ofTer as an expla
f nation then. Venango Citizen.
.Twenty-five Chinamen killed by
-the powder explosion at Berkley, Cal.,
were buried with considerable parade.
; Oil arriving at the cemetery, it was
, fuU'id that permits had been issued for
the burial of twenty-four and the
sextoa would admit that number only.
W hich body should be excluded as the
j twenty fifth ? The question was left
; to the crowd of live Chinamen, and
tbey settled it by means of a terrific
! fight, iu which various weapons made
i various wounds.
The extension of the Roberts torpe
do patent having been virtually de
feated, the movement is now direct
ed agaio-t the original patent. The
United States Government has,
through Attorney General Brewster,
brought suit in the Supreme Court of
the District of Columbia to vacate the
patsnt, aud application will be made
to-day at Utica, N. Y., for an injunct
ion to restrain further proceedings
against the users of the patent uutil
the case is decided. A large number
of the suits are pondiog iu the United
States Court of the Northern District
of New York, which will be quashed
if the suit of the Government shall
prove successful. Derrick.
One of the means used last fall to
bring about the triumph of Pattison
and reform was the circulation of
vague charges against Geu. Beaver's
houedy and efficiency iu the manage
ment of the State Agricultural Col
lege at Bellefoute. As if to strengthen
the' hints thrown out, much was made
of the fact that a committee of the
legislature was iuvestigatiug the
mauagemeut of this aud the other
State expermental farms. That com
mittee has made a report, which cost
the State $7,000, and which sets firth
;hat the Bellefonte College has been
honestly and judiciously managed,
ind is fully meeting the purposes of
ts creation. It is not worth while,
lowever, to call the attention of the
i'atiison-Stewart combination of slun
Jererg to this refutation of their dirty
ork iu the fall. That work contri
buted to the graud "refoim" of our
Jo mm on tffulth, and is, therefore, lite
eauty, its own excuse. Franklin

The moment there is danger of impair
mentof tho mind from excessive nervous
exhaustion, or where there exists forebo
dings of evil, a desire lor solitude, shun
ning and avoiding company, vertigo and
nervous debility, or when Insanity lias
alrearly taken place, reruna and Manalin
should be implicitly relied on. But it is
nearer well to wait so long before treat
ment is commenced. The early symp
toms are loss of strength, softness of the
muscles, dim or weak sight, peculiar ex
pression of the faoo and eyes, coated ton
gue, w'th impaired digestion j or in others,
certain powers only are lost, while they
are otherwise enjoying comparatively good
health. In all these t'oruna and Manalin
should at once bo taken.

Tliat is whr.t a rcat
mr.ny people arc doing.
They don't know just what
is the matter, but they have
a combination of pains and
aches, and each month they
grow worse.
The only pure remedy
yet found is Brown's Ikon
Bitteks, and this by rapid
and thorough assimilation
with the blood purifies and
enriches it, and rich, strong
blood flowing to every part
of the 'system repairs the
wasted tissues, drives out
disease and gives health and
strength.
This is why Brown's
Iron Bitters will cure
kidney and liver diseases,
consumption, rheumatism,
neuralgia, dyspepsia, mala
ria, intermittent fevers, &c.
.. 103 S. Taca St., Baltimore.

I was a great sufferer from
Dyspepsia, and for several
weeks could eat nothing and
was growing weaker every
day. I tried Brown's Iron
Bitters, and am happy to say
I now have a good appetite,
and aai getting stronger.
Jos. McCawlev.
Brown's Iron Bitters
is not a drink and does not
contain whiskey. It is the
only preparation of Iron
that causes no injurious ef
fects. Get the genuine.
Don't be imposed on with
imitations.
