The next election liefd in Pennsyl vania will bo held on Tuesday, the 4Ui of November. Voters must be assessod two months preceding the election, that is, on or before Thursday, September 4th. Voters must have paid a Stale or County lax one month preceding the election, that is, on or before Saturday, October 4th. Members of the County Committee should see to it that every voter of our party has complied with the law. Failure to pay tax in senson de prives tho voter of the prvilego of suffrage. An elector can swear in bis vote, though he be not assessed, but tho neglect may cause hi in much trouble. 1 . 3 Some of the Democratic oigans are forgetting themselves in the vigor with which they denounce the riot damages bill, and the attempts to pass . it by lobby influences. Was not Mr. Daniel O. Barr, the present candidate cf the Democrats for State Treasurer, a member of that same lobbv ? The Greeubackers of Washington county are a different kind of Green backers from those of the rest of the State. They have adopted a series of resolutions in which thev announce themselves the Union Greenback jparty, droppuig the word National. 'jClie effect of this is to cut themselves lloosa from the State organization, and --niakeiUiein a portion of Brick Pome roy's littf-e crowd, which is not recog- nized as regular by the chairman of -the Pennsylvania StUe committee. 1 here is room 'ic that county for any number of Greeuback parti' "is. The Philadelphia iitevrd is iVHitlod - t.j noun jui- viiruess ta .icast, a -u i . not afraid to speak out in meeting .vid tell its Democratic frieutk -what the matter is. It Bays of the present policy of the niauagers of that party.; The bunglers who have of late fbjjen "looking after the intercsti ot theDenie- cratio party in Ohio and snmA nf h other States must regard with dismay imu improve j nusiness outlook ,in all jparts of the country. There was much jpractical good sense in the advice wthich -General Grant once .gave .to. Vc WejMtWiess managers, which was to do r;,IlilJS.bt::'ond waiting fr the customary DeiuOcrAtio blunders. Here are the Democrats of Ohio re lying upon the despondency which is born of desolation as the well spring of their utmost hopes, while the press of the country is burdened with reports of business activity. Our Washington Letter. fijecial to tho Rkpublican. Washington, D. C, Aug. 28 ,79 Ihore is a revolution coming in Northern politics. There are men not Republicans who now realize the folly of the South iu repelling all advances made by tho North towarda the estab lishment of kindly feeling between the two sections, and so nctine as to prevent mutual good will for years, It is a fact that the Southern people have repelled a Lido of emigration frem the North thafr would have given that soction abundant capital for the developcment of its almost uuliniitcd natural resources and would have sup idiod them with an abundance of better labor than they havecverknown and which capital and labor woul pot only have developed thoir agricul tural resources, but would have estab iiilied mauufacturies, opened their winds, built railroads, covered their Lroad rivers with the white wings of commerce, and done fill those thiDgs neccscary to make that -ction rich and independent, us the Southern people themselves caunot make h. Instead of welcoming ucli emigration they have repelled it by persecutions, extending in many cases to arson nu.l murder, and have by armed organiza tions, prevented tho eicrciso of any political rights except such as could bo exercised within the organization of the Democratic party. This, I say, is bringing about a political revolu tion in the North. We hear of itevery day from Maine, from Ohio, and from every other State whoso coming elec tion has begun to attract attention. The North will bo as "solid" this Fall for individual rights as the South is for their suppression. Democrats in Ohio now concede tho election of Foster, and arc making a desperate cflbrt to carry the Legisla ture so as to re-elect Thurinan to the Senate. The arrangement of tho Sen atorial and Representative districts is such that thoy might accomplish this with a majority of 25,000 against them in the State. But, Foster's nnjority will exceed those figures and the lie puQicaus are too active aud vigilant to be beaten in the Legislature by any sort of combination. There were ten deaths from yellow fever in Memphis yesterday, and twenty-two now cases, according to the National Board of Health's report. De Soto. - TRIAL LIST.
