.Rules for the Fores County Repub
lican Primary Elections Adopted
August 15, 1874.
1. The candidates Tor the several
offices shall have their u a mesa an
nounced in one 6r more of the county
papers at least three 'weeks previous
to the Primary Meetings, stating the
office, and subject to tho actiou of the
-jiarty at tlio said primary meetings. :
2. The voters belonging to the Re
publican party in each township or
borough, shall meet on a day . to be
designated by the Coucty Committee,
at the usual places of holding spring
election, at 2 o'clock, P. M., and pro
ceed to elect one person for Judge, atd
two persons for Clerks, who shall form
a Board of Election to receive votes
and determine who are the proper per
sons to vote, and who shall hold the
polls open until C o'clock P. M. . Af
ter the polls are opeKed.the candidates
announced shall be ballotted for; the
name of each person voting shall be
written on a list at the time of voting,
no person being allowed to vote more
than once for each office.
8. After the polls are closed the
hoard shall proceed to count the votes
that each candidate has received, and
make out the returns accordingly, to
be certified by the Judge and attested
by the Clerks.
4. The Judgo (or ono of the Clerks
appointed by the Judge) of the respec
tive election diatricta.shall meet at the
Court House, in Tionesta.on the Tues
day fjllowing the Primary Meetings
at 2 o'clock P. XL, having the returns
and a list of voters, and the person
having tho highest number of votes
fur any office, shall be declared the
regular nominee of the Republican
party. -
6. Any two or more persons having
an equal number of votes forthesame
office tho Judges shall proceed to bal
lot for a choice, the person having the
Jiighest number to be the nominee.
0. The Return Judge shall be com
petent to reject by a majority, the re-
tarns from any district where there is
evidence of fraud, either in the returns
or otherwise, and shall reject them
where there is evidence of three or
more persons voting at the primary
meetings who are not Republicans.
7. The Return Judges shall appoint
Conferees Representative, eenatoral
and Cougrossional whoso acceptance
of said appointment shall be a pledge
to support the person who may teceive
the largest number of votes cast for
that office in the county.
8. Tho Return Judges may at any
time change the mode and manner of
selecting candidates as they may be
instructed by the people at their pri
mary meetings, due notice being given
by the County Committee.
0. The Chairman of the County
Committee shall be required to issue a
call in pursuance of tho action of the
County Committee.

The Republican voters of Forest
County will meet at the usual places
for holding the primary elections,

at 2 o'clock P. XI., to uominato as fol
lows: One person for Associate Judge.

Recorder and Clsrk of Courts. ,

One person for County Surveyor.

The polls will remain open until
7 o'clock p. ra. Each township will
elect and return one person as a mem
ber of the County Committee for the
ensuing year. '.
