It appears that, by the terms, of the mortgage under which the bonds were issued, one-fourth of the bondholders can, within three, calendar mouths of the non-payment of the seroi-nnnnal interest, empower the trustees to take charge of the road, nnd a resolution was offered and adopted requesting those officers at once to institute tlio legal proceedings necessary to bring the road into the market for the bene fit of the holders of the consolidated bonds. These securities amount to 81,000,000. Most of the bonds are held in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh Com mercial. .' The resignation of Sect etary Rich ardson, and the appointment of Gen. Bristow as Secretary of the Treasury, seems to be accepted favorably, as re gards the fact of change. Yet the new appoiutee must win confidence for himself in actual service. Ho is n lawyer, not known to be slutted in finance, and yet may succeed in mak ing a good Treasury official. It is a singular fact that skill iu the manage ment of large fiscal concerns of a pri vate or even public nature, does not Always prepare for the administration f the Treasury Dupartment of the United States. On the other hand, inexperience) is not fatal to success. Cliase, Bi.uUvell, or Fesscnden, were not practical financiers, yet ihey were good financial Secretaries. McCulluch was thus skilled, and was a poor Sec retary. So Bristow may bo a success. Pittsburgh Gazette, The Camp Meeting at Chautau qua Luke, this year will be held on Fair Point, commencing July 7th and continuing one week. Tlio Camp Meeting Association lias tendered the use of Its grounds at Fair Point to the National Sunday School Association, nnd the nest meeting of the organiza tion, will bo held there iu August, opening on tho 5th, and continuing GfUen diys. Sunday Schools of all denomina tions from all parts of the country will take part and many eminent men will be present, among whom are Henry Ward Bdechcr, Bishops Simp son, Havens, Ames, Janes, Kev. T. DeWitt Talmage, 4r. Hatfield, and Chancellor Mitchell, of Syracuse Uni versity. It ii a great enterprise, this bringing together of the Sabbath schools of the country, and will cost a large sum of money, but earnest men have the work in charge aud will car ry it through to success. Surely no better location than Fair Point could have been chosen, its large nnd beauti ful woods, its easy access by both land nnd water, extending far out iu the clear pleasant water of Chautauqua lake, with an atmosphere healthful and invigorating, it seems the placo of places to bring tho children iVorn the hot towns and cities to spend a few days aud enjoy the country in its most pleasing aspect. The following items we take from the Tidioute Journal: On Wednesday night some party or parties, as yet unknown, entered tho premises of J)r. F. A.
