Our Appearance.
An apology is due to our patrons,
for our appearance in half-sheet form
this week. The editor is still absent,
and we have been so unfortunate as to
fall ill, from a severe attack of cold.
We have made diligent efforts to get
help from abroad, but without success.
We have done our best in sending
this sheet out, and would not have
issued at all, had it not been for ad
vertisements which must appear in or
der to make them legal. Next week
the paper will contain its usual amount
of local and miscellaneous matter, as
the editor will then have returned.
Dr. J. II. Douglass, of T.dioule
Kill be in Tionesta on Monday, Nov.
4th, and will remain three days. lie
will be prepared to save the worst of
decayed teeth and roots, where the
crowns aie nearly gone. He will a I jo
be prepared to administer Chloroform,
Ether and Nitrous Gas. Give him
a call. Rooms at the Holmes House.
HOW TO GO WEST.
This is an enquiry which every one
should have truthfully answered before
lie starts on his journey, and a little
care takcu in examination of Routes
will in many cases save much trouble,
time and money.
The "C. B.&Q. RR.," running from
Chicago, tin oiigli Galeshurg to Bur
lington, and the "I. B. & W. Route."
running from Indianapolis, through
Bloomington to Burlington, have
achioved a splendid reputation in the
last two years as tho leading Passen
ger Routes to the West. At Burling
ton they connect with the B. & M. R.
R. and form the great Burlington
Route, which runs direct through
Southern Iowa to Nebraska and Kan
sas, -with close connections to Califor
nia and the Territories ; and passen
gers starting from Tionesta, on their
way westward, cannot do better than
to take the Burlingtjn Route.
This Line has published a pamphlet
called "How to go West," which con
tains much valuable information ; a
large correct map of the Great West,
which can be obtained free of charge
by addressing the General Pussenger
Agent B. &. M. R. R., Burlington,
Iowa.
