Hemtved, 1st. That we hail this fifth
annual meeting with pleasure.
2d. That we ure thankful to God
for a season of prosjierity, as respects
the world, and also increased prosperi
ly in cducutioiiul matters.
. 3d. That we recommend a develop
ment of the moral, as well as the in
tellectual faculties iu our school.
4th. That the dignity of our calling
is not surpassed by any other profes
sion, and that we, therefore glory in
our work, and will strive to render
ourselves worthy of it.
5lh. That we fully recognize the
necessity of professional reading and
study by the teachers.
Cth. That we recommend a greater
degree of attention to Rhetoric, by in-
corporutiug the same into their teach
ings, and encouraging efforts in Decla
mation mid Recitation.
7th. That education is thconlv safe
guard of free institutions, and under
the present circumstances, our schools
should be sustained ut all hazards.
8ih. That the Directors of the coun
ty should establish, a uniformity t
text-books throughout the entire couu-
