Tlio school Ikhiso near Jneoli
Hood's, ill Hickory Township, hurtled
mi Thursday night last. Mies Sadie
Arncr was tlio teacher of tlio sehool,
and from her.and herscholars, we learn
that there wns no fire in tlio uhool
house on the afternoon preceding tho
firo. All ngruo in thinking that it
must have been the work of an ii.cen-
darv. Some trouble, the nature of
which we could not definitely lcurn.iu
regard to iho school liouso has been
existing foreonio time among the peo
ple of the district, and consequently
opinion seems somcwhivt divided in lo
cating tho blame. It was a new school
house, and we believe the term which
v as commenced a week ago, was the
first occasion of the building having
been used since it was finished, Tim
people of the district aro very much
excited over the matter, and we have
no doubt that our courts will have to
settle the matter. Wo only hope that
the peipctrator of the base act may
have full justice meted out to him.
School districts in Forest county ore
not so wealthy as to be able to build
new school houses every year, and
those who make it necessary for them
to do so, should have a chance to learn
a trado at Allegheny.
