Mr. Naugle had lieen in poor health for alxiut two years as a re sult of a severe attack of la grippe, and this In connection with some heart trouble illy prepared hiin to endure the rigors of the past winter. About six weeks ago ho was compelled to take his bed and has boeu confined to it ever since. His battle against the grim destroyer was a heroic one. He wanted to live, but was prepar ed to die. He was a man of wonderful Vitality aud tenacity of purpose, and he did not give up until he clearly saw that the end was inevitable. He drifted across tho river without a murmur, and bis det-t'i was a peaceful one. Landlord Naugle will lie greatly miss ed in this community and by a host of friends from abroad who were wont to enjoy the hospitalities of his hotel. His disposition was an affable, genial oue, and he was deservedly popular with all who knew him. He was sincere in his friendship and unswerving iu bis fidelity to what he conceived to be his duty in the affairs of life. We, in common with tho community generally, extond our heartfelt sympathy to the stricken family, and trust they will look to an All-wise Father for solace in the hour of bereavement."
