Werner, who was defeiteJ by Noah Casebeer, Ki . for the nomination for the olli.-e of Justice of the Peace at the recent borough Republican primary elec tion, is contesting Mr. Caselieer's right to have his name printed up in the official ballots. In his notice of contest Mr. Werner alleges that twelve or fifteen vot ers were disqualified from exercising the right of franchise by reason of non-pay ment of taxes, and cost their ballots for hi-t opponent. This is the first time a case involving the question stated aliove has been raised in Somerset county, if not in Pennsylva nia, and it has therefore excited more or less interest.
