The Mitllin county grand jury recently
found hills of indictment against a number
of minora fur falsely representing themsel
ves to be of age in order to obtain liquor to
drink. We believe there are boys in th;s
section w ho use the same base means to se
cure that which w ill ul'.av their thirst.
Ladies may come, and ladies may go, but
whichever w ay they come or go on these de
lightful spring days, they never fail to stop
at the Millinery and Notion Store of Mrs. M.
K Schrock. to see her elaborate display of
lovely hats and bonnets, fresh from the
eastern markets, competition in prices de
fied. New Styles of parasols, hosiery, gloves,
ladies mvk wear, handkerchiefs, at

The season for fishing f..r trout in Penn

until August x'i;ite a number of the

At the spring election Mr-. Ada Heed, of
Liveiinore, received the highest number of
v.tcs for the ntliee of Justice of the Peace in
that borough Some of Mrs. Heed's friends
wanted h- rto prosecute for libel, but she
has shown her good sense and her fitness for
the position by thing with the proihonotary
at Greenshurg her acceptance of the office
and lifting her commission. She is the first
woman who ha-ever held office in West-'
ciore'aitd County, and is probably the only
female "Squire" in the country.
We have this dav. Tin-day. moved into
our new room, across tue st reet iroin our o.
stand, and have opened out our new stock
of spring g mils- which we wiil be pleased to
have all our friends , g'd and examine.
