One of the most pleasant social events of
the season was the reception given Friday
evening at the residence of Mr. Edmund
Kienian to Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Trent upon
their return from an extended bridal tour.
The youth ami beauty of the town were
there in large numbers, together with par
lies from Johnstown and other neighboring

be one of the largest ever seen in this coun-

The taxidermist ut Pittsburgh pronounced
it to be the finest specimen that he had ever

by the Plymouth Lecture Association for
the season of 1KS1-2, opened last Saturday
levenini: with a lecture bv Dr. A. A. Wil-
jug for a moment that the lecture was a long

most entertaining lecture ever delivered in
Plymouth, and did the masses more real

Mr. Dill returned Friday from an extended
business trip east. He took in Lewisburg,

made arrangements with the Balto. t Ohio
Railroad Company to extend a teiephoue
wire on the company's telegraph poles from
this place to West Salisbury, for the private
use of the Boy n ton Lumber Co, Cumber
land ii Elklick Coal Co., Keystone Coal Co.,
and Hocking mines. In the near future a
telephone wire for general use will be put on
same poles to connect Salisbury with this
place, which will bring both towns within
speaking distance. Why don't our hotel
proprietors have telephone connections with
the railway station, for the accommodation
of the ever present commercial drummer?
Postmaster Hicks is back from Philadel
phia where he baa been undergoing medi
cal treatment for several weeks, and pur
chasing his stock of Holiday goods. The
treatment did not benefit hi 111 much, but the
'ar load of Holiday goods he brought with
him leaves one of the opinion that he is
still a "Stalwart." He has very nice Christ
mas goods stalwart looking scores of them.

Lou A. Smith wants the entire cussed
revenue tax taken off whisky. Why? he
wants Col. Scull kicked out of the Revenue

for " Scientific Alex." at the last election.
