First to attract our attention is Washing

reaching from lloor to ceiling. Further on
we reach the garden, a space enclosed with

The Institute at Mt. Pleasant, we lejirn, is
putting on new dress. The boys grew weary
of giving ladies preference iu everything and
were about to strike"' tor better ijuurters
when a move was made for repairs. The
new building which our friend N. R. Critch
fjeld wa largely instrumental in building,
the young ladies have approprintel to them

Ed. HkbaLH. Permit lue to give to the
readers of yotir interesting paper a brief ac-
! count of a barn raising we had recently at
Phit'bc Stahl's, of Krothorsva'ley township.
The day opened w ith rain, which continued
to pour down at interval until nearly noon,
but as we had come to work, after having
first partaken of a grand and delicious break
fast, we fell to work with a will, nnd before
the gong Bounded for dinner we had the
barn standing on its fonti.latiou. It is a line
and strong looking structure, Willi feet.
The joining was done by Messrs. Jas. Pritts
and Jessie Hoover, who are to be congratu
lated ou the line manner in prl.ich the work
was done. Dinner! Now comes the mo-t
piea-ant tart of the atlair. We wcjv con
ducted by our generous hustess into a spa
cious room in which was erevted a magnifi
cent green arch, tastefully decorated
with the choicest of rlowtrs. The table,
which extended entirely aiT.iss the room,
was groaning under the weight of thegood
things it was ladened with. Every thing the
most fastidious epicure could desire wn
there in .profu-ion mutton steak and sir

"which the waters have brought forth abun
