K., at ID o'clock Thursday morning. Here

they were to enjoy a grand picnic and re
union. An elegant platform had been
erected and as the party was accompanied

it is likely that the crowd would have been

twenty hands high, and weighing nearly

dent Lincoln, Congress diussed tho pro
priety of making some provision for Mrs.
Lincoln. It was proposed to pay her the
whole amontit which her husband would
have n-ceive 1 had he lived out the term
upon which he had entered but a little over
a month before his death. On tho other
hand th-jre wai opposition to any payment,

the one year's salary and tho conferring

Tho money received lasted her but a short
lime it must be remembered that the Pres

From day to day since the smali-pox first
made its appearance here, wo have taken
occasion to report accurately the number of
afliieted, their condition, etc., as tha wildest
rumors have been circulated touching the
prevalence of the disease in our midst. At
the present time there are only two cases in
Johnstown, which the respective physicians
in attendance are not prepared to declare
positively out of danger, but the symptoms
in each instance are favorable for recovery.

were reported during the past week, and the
