Deceased was a son in law of William Layburn, of Xew Haven. and resided here several years, his resi dence recently being in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Daquesne Grays, ot the latter place, and for the past several years held the position which he occupied when death suddenly snatched him from those near and dear to hiin.
