received the praise of lu commanders, and
made an honorable history, lite cause in
which it fought was just, and its decision

same whether it appears in the vigilant
and high-sou led service of the minute men
of tbe Revolution, or in the grand acheive-
ments of the heroic veterans that eurronnd
me to day.
Gentlemen, we are pr.id oi your histo
ry. We leel honored ty your visit, lo
you and yeur comrades in arms we owe
the final triumph of our cause and tbe
present enjyments of our liberties. And
in this reception which we hereby tender
you, and in tbe hospitalities of our village,
ireeiv extended, we wtali to express m an
humble way our sense of obligation and
gratitude to you for your eminent ser
vices in behalf ot oar common cause and
country.

ships of war have certainly earned a tall
right to tbe relaxations of peace. Veter
ans, you have a right to these reunions.
They ought to be happy and inspiring.
