at burnt. The young man. on entering

ing his last. Although his suife-rings must
have been intense, five minutes did not
elapse from the time ot the attack until his

legs fearfully, end fastening him against
the wall ot the barn, with a dagger-like
horn in either groin, quickly destroyed bis
life.
His body was removed to the house,
wheic an inquest was held and the facts
as given above developed.

colt only a few weeks old, and we heard

young ladies, Ida Dunn and Cora

by a person utknown, and both la
ics beaten nearly to death with an
iron bur, which was subsequently
found on the premises. None cf the
family awakened until sometime af
ter the occurrence, when the groans
of Miss Heslep aroused the other ia
mates of the bouse. She was found
ia bed. insensible, covered with blood
and wcuads. -Miss Dunn was found
outdoors, near the house, also insen
sible, terribly mutilated, and an at
tempt Lad been made to ravish her.
