Unit ing tbe best elements known to tbe chem ist, tbey are particularly effective against tbe numerous stomachic disorders for which they ar recommended as a cure. These pills are so mild, yet searching, that tbey are often prescribed by doctors who otherwise do not favor patent medi cines. Indeed, with the Irmts ol Or. Ayer's genius in the shape of Pills, Sar- saparilla. Ague Cure and Cherry Pectoral, one might with impunity travel through tbe swamps ot tropical America, or follow Stanley on his travels through the interior of Africa. lm'rrfrTO Yw ran (Jen Dog. Wheat axd Rtk. April returns to the Department of Agriculture show that tbe average of Winter wheat is about one and one-half per cent greater than last year. 1 bis increase is due mostly to the transler of spnng sowings to fall sowings in tbe ft est and Aorta west L nless spring sow ings increase beyond present expectations, there will be a reduced aggregate of wheat acreage in 1S79. The wheat in the ground, taken a a whole, is about two per cent below the Average. The crops in some sections was unfavorably affected by the fall drought. And in others by the absence ot snow during extreme winter cold. With Average crowing conditions, howev er, it will make a very large crop ot win ter wheat Rye has fallen off about four per cent, in acreage, and is about four per cent below the average. It follows the general analogies ot the wheat crop.
