iu Saltlick township, Fayette county.
We arrived upon the grounds in the even

the grove belonging lo Soloiuan Kennel,
and was arranged with four tiers ol seals
in front of the preacher's stand, surround
ed on either side by the cozy tents that
had been erected in which to tabernacle
for a lew days. At the entrance ol the
encampment was aboardiug tent controll

ed Falisfitclion to all who desired refresh
ments, not otherwise provided for. Kev.
D. K. Lavan, preacher iu charge, intro

On Friday morning a heavy shower of
rain tell, out llie people a&embied in one
of the tents, while Her. 1. A. Smith, ot
Somerset, addressed them on the subject of
"frayer. In the afternoon Kev. V . A
Uiuger, of Bridgeport, told us that "Bet

ning thereof," followed in the evening by
an able discourse tixiq ''-fne one thing

Saturday morning Iter. J. Each, ol
Sloystowu, referred to the "Surpaasiug en
couragements of God' lieople over their
discouragements;" followed in the after
noon by a discourse from Iter. E. C. Mar
tin, of Cranberry Summit, W. Va., ou
"Earthly dissolution." In the evening
ue listened lo a sermon preached by Kev.
Baumgarduer, ot Salisbury, on the "Na

morning daw ned upon us bright and clear,
and a very large crowd ot people assem

upon the "Strivings of God's spirit.''
Wednesday was the last day of the meet

Baumgardner preached a very animating
discourse upon "The heavenly guesl
cUamlier." During this service a deep state
of feeling pervaded the congregation 3ome I
wept, others shouted and many praised
God. Missionary contributions were then
solicited, and the sum of f 12U secured on
subscription. The closing exercises in the
eveniug beggars elescripiion. Alter the

those thai were saved, and the hallelujahs
ol God's people characterized the service;.
