Ltar Year. Oo Friday evening last
a 'leap year moonlight picnic' was enjoy

The ladies took the thing in charge ju.-t to
show "bow much style there is about we
girls, aoj liov." A fio platform bad been
erected ia tk grounds belonging to the
Black property, and (our members of the
Silrer Cornet Band furnished the music
for the occasion. The grounds and plat
form were handsomely illuminated with
Chinese lantern and blazing torches, and
presented quite a picturesque appearance.
Die sinuous paths winding in and out be
hind the shrubbery and hawthorn hedges,
were a great attraction to the romantically
inclined. The greatest interest, however.
centred around ike platform, and when
"Xaale aruse with IU votaptaou swell,

Aad all went larrrr at a marring a bell."
At 12 o'clock supper was announced and
the platlonu was quickly deserted tor the
dining hall. The table was spread in the
usual elegant style that characterizes ev

The ladies have reason to compliment
themselves upon the entire success of the
entertainment, and they can rest assured
that llie remembrance of their generous
hospitality will not be the least f the many
bright recollections that will cluster round
the Centennial year. Between twenty
