Hoffman nnd family, of this plaCc, met with a narrow escapo at tho Northumberland bridge, while paying toll. They observed a team of runaway horses approaching thcra, and Mr. Dock succeeded in getting his team out of the way, but before Mr. Kecler was able to do so, the horses bad already run into his sled. Dr. Brown and wife were tho only persons who re ceived Injuries. A broken tongua was the only damage done to the sled.
