In a marly soil the proportion of lime

Marls are called sandy, loamy and clayey,

contain of these substances, pnn ided they
l e free from lime, or do not contain more
than live percent, of this material.

the proportion of lime exceeds twenty per
c ut., and thus by iis quantity becomes an
important con-tituent.
