Gentlemen : We take much pleasure in re.
commending your Salamander Safe to Merchant
and other in want of a secure mean of preser
ving their books, papers, etc., from fire, a the
one we purchased from you about seven month
since hss preserved our book, paper and cash
in a good a condition aa they were when put
into it, before the great fire of this morning, which
destroyed the entire block of buildings corner of
Chestnut and Fifth streets. The above safe was
in use in our office, on the second floor of our
building, from which place it felt into the cellar,
and remained there until the fire was out Th
Safe was then removed and opened in the pres
ence of at least 1000 persona, who witnessed the
good condition of the contents. Will you please
have the Safe and Locks repaired, aa we intend
to put it in use again, having perfect confidence
in its lire-prool qualities.
