(ikkti.cmkx :
After a careful examination of your "Amer

pressing my entire approval of the selection and
composition of the precedents thus offered to the
public. I he legal profession in Pennsylvania
stands in need of a correct svstem of pleading,
adapted to our habits of business, and the practice
of the courts. 1 our forms ol declarations being,
to a great exlent, founded on the acts of astcmbly
will lie a aving of labor to the pleader, and con
duce to shTuIv nnd brevity in our pleadings.
It should be in the hands of every practising
lawyer in our state.

W. Mi CAntr, Esq.,
Dear Sir: I received more than a year ago
a copy of "Reed, s Pleaders' Assistant" improved
by Judge .Ionian nnd ethers. I examined it with
sonic euro soon afterwards, and have had occa
sion to use it several times since. I think it de.
cidedly valuable as a manite.l for practising
attorneys in Pennsylvania, and do not hesitate
to recommend it. If it were generally used it
would increase the accuracy of the profession in
matters which are often very carelessly done.
I am very truly yours, Ac.,
J. S. BLACK.
I also received a copy of the Pleaders' Assist
ant, and hnvo examined it sufficiently to enable
me lo concur very henrlily in the above commen
dations by the Chief Justice.
