L. 81iindcl, of tha bar of Northumberland county, Since the publication of the book, the following letter has hven received from Judge Pearson of Harnsburg i Uikbisscro, June 30, 1853. ClSSTlIMEjr I , After a careful examination of your "Amer ican pleaders assistant," I take pleasure in ex pressing my entire approval of the selection and composition of the precedents thus offered to tha public. The legal profession in Pennsylvania stands in need of a correct system of pleading, adapted to our habits of business, and the practice of tbe courts. Your forms of declarations being, to a great extent, founded on the acts of astembly will be as aving of labor to the pleader, and con duce to safctv and brevity in our pleadings. It should he in the hands of every prsctising lawyer in our state. Yours, with great resjiect, JNO. J. PEARSON. Hjn. A. Jordan, Wm. M. Rockefeller and M. L. Shindnl, Ksquires. W. McCsbtt, Esq., Dear Sir: I received more than a year ago a copy of "Reed.s Pleaders' Assistant" improved by Judge Jordan and others. I examined it with some caro soon afterwards, and have had occa sion to use it several times since. I think it de cidedly vatuablo as a inanuel for practising attorneys in Pennsylvania, and do not hesitate to recommend it. If it were generally used it would increase the accuracy of the profession in matters which are often very carelessly done. I am very truly yours, Arc, J. S. BLACK. I also received a copy of the Pleaders' Assist ant, and have examined it sufficiently to enable me to concur very heartily In the above commen dations by the Chief Justice. GEO. W. WOODWARD.
