Temperance in Virginia. The commit
tee of the House of Delegates of Virginia, to
w hich was referred the petitions of numerous
citizens of l he commonwealth, praying for the
passage of a law prohibiting the sale or bar
ter of any intoxicating liqours, under certain
restrictions and penalties, have reported
against the prayer of ihe petitioners. The
Richmond Whig considers this report a prel
ty sure sign that there will be no legislative
enactment on the question this session.
