ship heretofore existing between the under
signed, trading under the firm n.-.me of
Brown & Keller, has this day been dissolved
bv mutual consent. The books and accounts
of the late firm will be left at the old stand,

The School-Board of Stroudsburg has re
solved to apply to the Legislature for the fol
lowing Acts :
AN ACT
Authorizing the School Directors of the Bor
ough of Stroudsburg, in the county of Monroe,
to sell and convey certain Ucal instate ana Dull
dins in said Borough.
Sectionl. Be it enacted, Ac. That the school
directors of the borough of btroudsburg in the
county of Monroe, be and they are hereby au
thorized and empowered to sell, at public sale
the Academy property, located in said borough,
the title to which was vested in the school dis
trict of the borough of Stroudsburg, by an act
of Assembly, entitled "an apt to vest the title
of certain property to the borough of btrouds
bure. Pennsylvania, to the board of School
Directors of said borough;" approved the
twentieth day of March, A. D., one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-two, and convey
the same to the purchaser or purchasers. The
net proceeds of such sale to be paid to the
Treasurer of the school fund of said borough
to be applied to school purposes.

board, for the purpose of erecting a suitable

taxation except tor state purposes.

ORPHANS' COURT SALE.
By virtue of an order of the Orphans' Court
of Monroe county, will be sold at public sale,
on the premises, on
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14277, 1874,
at 2 o'clock, P. M., the following Real Estate
of Joseph Shackelton, deceased, viz: A cer
tain messuage and lot of land suuated in the
borough of East Stroudsburg, Monroe county,
at the southeast corner of Main and Franklin
streets, being 30 feet in front on Main street,
by 130 feet deep on Franklin street. The im
provements are a
Frame Dwelling House,
30x40 feet, 2 stories high, with store-room in
front, on both streets.
This lot is pleasantly located in said
borough, and is at a point suitable for carrying
on a good mercantile trade, and is near the
Railroad Depot.
