To All Whom it May Concen :
At a meeting of the Pennsylvania

collected may be remitted by drafts or
post office orders.
Acknowledgment will be made of the
sums contributed by each school, by

County secretaries of organized coun

We are persuaded that our Sunday
Schools will, to a child, respond. You
may be assured of the utmost care in the
exercise of the trust assumed, and that
the beuelacti'jtjs bestowed will be wisely
distributed in the most needed directions,
especially not forgetting, in the claims oi
the great city, the suffering that has come
upon the burnt towns and villages of the
Northwestern frontier.
The hopes that we centre in the Sun
day school children of our State we feel
sure will not disappoint us in this matter.

A correspondent writes : Yc could
never account for the fact that so few far
mers and villagers undertake to raise this
excellent esculent. It is easily raised,
easily kept through the winter, affords an
cicellent relish for meats and flavoring
"ups, and is very wholesome. The seeds
should be swon now iu rows on rich soil.
Keep clear of weeds, and when the plants
get four leaves nhcar tliem off to induce
stocky growth ; and as they grow up
:g:un, they may have a eecond shearing,
which gives them a better supply of roots,
and enables them to stand transplanting
better. In June or July transplant to a
- bed in rows three feet apart, plant
or eight inches apart in the rows.
The earth is to be pressed firmly about
lie roots with the foot.

gloss and freshness of youth. Thin
hair is thickened, falling hair checked,
and baldness often, though not always,
cured by its use. Nothing can restore
the hair where tho follicles are. de
stroyed, or the glands atrophied and
decayed; but such as remain' can be
saved by this application, and stimu
lated into activity, so that a new
growth of hair is produced. Instead
of fouling the hair with a pasty sedi
ment, it will keep it clean and vigorous.
Its occasional uso will prevent the hair
from turning gray or falling o(T, and
consequently prevent baldness. Tho
restoration of vitality it gives to the
scalp arrests and prevents tho forma
tion of dandruff, which is often so un
cleanly and offensive. Free from thoso

some preparations dangerous and inju

nothing else can be found so desirablo,
Containing neither oil nor dye, it does
