PREPARATION OF COMPOUND EX
TRACT BUCHU. The component parts
are BUCHU. Lokq Leaf, CUBEBS, JUNI
PER BERRIES.
Mode of Preparation. Buchu, in vacuo.
Juniper Berries, by distillation, to form a gin.
Cubebs extracted by displacement by liquor
obtained from Juniper Berries, containing
very little sugar, a small proportion of spirit,
and more palatable than any now in use.
The active properties are by this mode ex
tracted.
Buchu, as prepared by Druggists general
ly, is of a dark color. It is a plant that e
nnts its fragrance; tho action o: a flame de
stroys this, fits active principle, leaving a
dark and glutinous decoction. Mine is the
color of ingredients. The Buchu in my pre
paration predominates; the smallest of the
other ingredients are added, to prevent fer
mentation; upon inspection, it will be found
not to be a Tincture, as made in Pharmaco
peia, nor is it a Syrup and therefore can be
used in cases where fever or inflammation
exists. In this, you have the knowledge of
the ingredients and the mode of preparation.
Hoping that you will favor it with a trial.
and that upon inspection it will meet with
your approbation,

Thin Lair U thick
ened, fklliDg Lair cheeked, and bald
ness oflen, though not always, cured
by its tiso. Nothing can restore tha
hair where the follicles arc destroyed,
or the glands afrophie-l and decayed.
But such as remain can be saved for
usefulness by thi3 application. Instead
of fouling the hair with a pasfy sedi
ment, it will keep it titan and vigorous.
Its occasional mts will prevent tba hair
from turning gray or falling off, and
consequently prevent balduess. Fre
from those deleterious substances whica
make some preparations dangerous aud
injurious to tho hair, the Vigor cau
only benefit but not harm it. It wanted,
merely for a
hair dressing;-
nothing elso can ha found so desirable.
Containing uuilhcr oil nor dy, it does -not
soil whit cambric, and yet last
long on the hair, giving it a rich glossjr
lustre aud a graUful prfuac.
