Dr. E. A. BLAND
tlTOULl) RESPECTFULLY AN
v T nounce to the citizens of Strouds
burg that he can be consulted at the
STROUDSBURG HOUSE,
from the 1st to the "10th of April, on
caees of the Eye, Ear, Throat, Lung, and
Heart. Having had an experience of 10
years in the Hospital, both of this country
and Europe, and being mpplicd with the
most complete outfit of Surgical instruments
in the country, feel: that many who are
(suffering from disease cither hereditary or
ncquircd, can (by proper skill, and a perfect
Knowledge ot the parts) find, at least, much
relief, if not a radical cure, by the proper
application of remedial agents. I do not
propose to perform miraculous cures, but
believe that a thorough knowledge of Medi
cine, Surgery, and the Collateral Sciences,
will enable us to cure many of those di
cas'S which have heretofore been considered
beyond the skill of a Physician. We will
perform operation on the Eyes for Cataract,
Artificial Pupil, Strabismus (Cross Eye), in
version or eversion of the Lids, Weeping
Eye, remove diseased bone, Tumors, and
all malformations connrcted with the Eye
or its appendages. Our experience in the
the treatment of these diseases is unsurpassed
by any Physician or Occulisl in the country.
Having been Opera" ing Surgeon in the New
York State Eye &. Ear Infirmary, located in
Syracuse, and subsequently connected with
other first-class institutions of the kind in
different cities of the country, feel confident
of our ability to perform what we propose. I
Having a first-class Ophthalmoscope we are
nb" to examine the internal structun 8 of
the Eye with as much precission and
racy as the external txirface. The use
this instrument in the diagnosis and
incnt of diseases of the Eye is indipensibly
necessary.
Dealiie
The Phv-ician wl i!e a student in the
fice of his preceptor, or while attending
medical lectures never dreams ofacquainting
himself with the minute Anatomy and
ology of the Er, hence when called upon
treat f-o delicate nn organ, rarely, if
succeeds in restoring his patient. In fnct,
the intelligent Physician never nvddle,
or interferes, with this orgun, save to use
some sitnph? itjctioa. blister or sea ton. If
this cures, well, if not, the poor victim is
doomed to be deprived of tins most import
ant or'an. Instruments for examine the
similar to the Ophthalmoscope are now
used, whereby the internal Ear is brought
plainly to view, and the true caue of Deaf
ness ascertained and treated accordingly.
THROAT, LUNGS & HEART.
The great difficulty in determining the
seat nnl precise charac er of diseases of the
Above-named t rgans is owing to the faci
that they are so deep seated, and surrounded
by a tony framework, hich affon.s strength
to thw part of the body, as well as protection
from injury .to these vital organs. Constan
experif-i-ce, together with a y,md ct knew I
or"" of the An tctr.ica! iclat'ons ex'stinp;
between these organs, is the only t-ure guide
the Physician h s to conduct his pitient
safely through the dangerous diseases which
often and s i finally attack the Lungs, Throiit
and Heart. The tact is now fully cstab
1 shed by 'he most scientific men of the age,
that tlicse diseases are not necessarily fatal,
if at the rroper tiii.c the proper remedies Le
applied. The Physical exploration of
Chest has ot late years been reduced
perfect science, consequently these diseases
have been robbed of half their terrors. 1 non
sands h-ive been, and :. re now being, re.-tored
to perfect health, and theenjoyment of these
blessings provided so -bounteously by the
ltuler of the universe.
Dr. B. will perform all Surgical Operations,
such as removal ot Tumors, Malformation
Limbs, CI nb-Foot, Hare Lip, &x.

In milking cows the subscriber feels con-

prepares it, will astonish all who use it, and
convince the most incredulous to say that by
feeding a cow one tca?poonfnl of Yobatt's

the quantity and quality of the milk as to
yield one pound of Butter per week uore
is promising1 much, yet we have the evidei ce
of
of hundreds to prove this assertion. This
for
increase is made by keeping the cow in a
healthy condition with a good appetite.
HOtiS and SHEEP will be greatly bene-
fitted by us-ing this powder. One of our
customers says that he had 16 fcheep all
which hid the Distemper, and concluded he
would try an experiment with Youatt's

the rest died.
