A singular and sad accident occurred a few Hays since to a Mr. Pcllett, an old and much Respected citizen of Palmyra township, PiKC Co., which resulted in his death. He had recently lost four of his catle by poison or ome other unknown cause, and while en gaged in skinning them run a small briar in fiis'arm. lie thoughtlessly took the knife that he had been using in skinning the cat lie, to take it out, thereby innocclating him self with the poison from the animals.
