Headache, and Billious Fevers, indeed
for the wliole class of diseases origina
ting in biliary derangement, caused by
the Malaria of miasmatic countries.
Fever and Ague is not the only conse
ouence of the nuasmetic noison. A great
variety of disorders arise from its irritation,
in malarious districts, among1 which are Jeu
ralgia, Rheumatism. Gout Headache, Blind
ness, Toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Asthma,
Palpitation, Painful Affection ol the bpine,
Hysterics, Pam in the Bowels, uolic, Para
lysis, and Derancrement of the Stomach, al
of which, when originating in this cause put
on the intermittent type, or become periodi
cal. This "Cure" expels the poison from
the blood, und thus cures them all alike. It
is not only the most effectual remedy ever
discovereu ior tins class o! complaints, but
it is the cheapest and moreovor is perfectly
safe. No harm can arise from its use, and
the patient when cured is left as healthy as
if he had never had the disease. Can this
be said of any other cure for Chills and Fe
vcr? It is true of this, and its importance
to thost alluded with the complaint cannot
be over estimated. So sure is it lo cure the
Fever and Ague, that it may he truthfully
said to be a certain remedy. One Dealer
complains that it is not a good medicine to
sell, because one bottle cures a whole neigh
berhood.

U. S. 7-30 Loan.
The Secretary of the Treasury eives no
tice that subscriptions will be received for
Coupon TreasuryN otes, payable three years
from Aug. 15th, 1864, with semi-annual fn
terest at the rate of seven and three-tenths
pei cent, per annum, principal and inter
est both to be paid in lawful money.
These notes will be convertible at the op
tion of the holder at maturity into six per
cent, gold bearing bonds, payable not less
than five nor more than twenty years from
their date; as the Goverument may elect.
They will be issued in denominations of 850,
8100, 8500, 81,000, and 85,000, and a
subscriptions must be for fifty dollars or some
multiple of fifty dollars.
The notes wili be transmitted to the own
ers free of transportation charges as soon a
ter the receipt of the original Certificates o
Deposit as they can be prepared.
As the notes draw interest from August
15, persons making deposits subsequent to
that date must pay the interest accrued from
date of deposit
Parties depositing twenty-five thousan
dollars and upwards for these notes at any
one time will bealloweda commission of one
quarter of one per cent, which will be paid
by the Treasury Department upon the re
ceipt of a bill for the amount, certified to by
the officer with whom the deposit was made
No deductions for commissions must bo made
from the deposits.
Special Advantages of this Loan
It is a National Savings Bank, offering a
higher rate of interest than any other, and
the best security. Any savings bank which
pays its depositors in U. S. Notes, considers
that it is paying in the best circulating me
dium of the country, and it cannot pay in
anything better, for its own assets are either
in government securities or in notes or bonds
payable m government paper.
It is equally convenient asa temporary or
permanent investment. 1 he notes canal
ways be sold for within a fraction of their
face ani accumulated interest, and are the
best security with banks as collaterals for
discounts.
Convertible into a Six per Cent. 5-20 Gold
Uond.
In addition to the very liberal interest on
the notes for three years, this privilege
conversion is now worth about three per cent
per annum, for the current rate 5-20 Bonds
is not less than nine per cent, premium
and before the war the premium on six per
cent. U. S. stocks was over twenty percent.
It will be seen that the actual profits on this
loan, at the present market rates, is not less
than ten per cent, per annum.
Its Exemption from State or Mu
nicipal taxation,
But aside from all the advantages we have
enumerated, a special Act of Congres ex
cmpts all bonds and Treasury notes from
local taxation. On the average, this exemp
tion is worth about two per cent, per an
num, according to the rate of taxation in va
rious parts of the country.
It is believed that no securities offer so
great inducements lo lenders as those issued
by the government. In all other forms of
indebtedness, the faith or ability of private
parlies or stock companies or separate com
munities only, is pledged for pnyment,
while the whole property of the country is held
to secure the discharge of all the obligations
of the Uuited Slates.
While the government offers the most lib
eral tcims for its loans, it believes that the
very strongest appeal will be to ihe loyalty
and patriotism of the people
Duplicate certificates will be issued for all
deposits. The party depositing must endorse
upon the. original certificate the denomina
tion of notes required, and whether they are
to be issued in blank or payable to order.
When so endorsed it must be left with the
officer receiving the deposit, to be forwarded
to the Treasury Department.
Subscriptions will be received by the
Treasurer of the United States, at Washing
ton, the several Assistant Treasurers and
designated Depositaries and by the
First National Bank of Scranton Pa.
Second National Bank of Scranton, Pa.
and by all National Banks which adeposita
ries of public money, and all
RESPECTABLE BANKS and BANKERS
throughout the country will give further in
