Read the following:
Bath, Maine, April 18th, 1859.
Prof. O. J. Wood & Co: Gents.: The let-
ler I wrote you in 1856 concerning your val
uable Hair Restorative, and which you have
published in this vicinity and elsewhere, has
given rise to numerous enquiries touching
the lacts in the case. 1 ho enquiries are,
first, is it a fact of iny habitation and name,
as sl.fted in the communication ; second, is il
true of all therein contained; third, does my
hair still continue to be in good order and of
natural color To all I can and do answer
invariably yes. Myliair is even better than
in anv stage of my life lor 40 years past
more soil, thrifty, and better colored ; the
same is true of my whit-kers, and the only
cause why it is not generally true, is that the
substance is washed off by frequent ablution
of the face, when if care were used by wi
ping the face in close connection with the
whiskers, the same result will follow as the
hair. I have been in the receipt of a great
number of letters from all parts of New Lrtg
land, asking me if my hair still continues to
be good :. as there is so much fraud in ihe
manufacture and sale of various compounds
as well as this, it has, no doubt been basely
imitated and been used, not only without any
good effect, bul to absolute injury. J have
not used any of your Restorative of any ac
count for some months, and yet my hair is as
good as ever, alid hundreds have examined it
with surprise, as I am now 61 years old and
not a gray hair in my head or on my face;
and to prove this fuct, 1 send you a lock o
my hair taken off the past week. I received
your favor of two quart bottles last summer,
for w hich I am very grateful: I gave it to
my friends and thereby induced them to try
it, many were skeptical until after trial, and
then purchased and used it with universa
success. I will ask a favor, that you senc:
me a lest by which I can discover fraud in
the Restorative, sold by many, 1 fear, with
out authority from you. A pure article will
insure success, and I believe where good ef
fects do not follow, the failure is caused by
the impure article, which curses the inventor
of the good. 1 deem it my duty as hereto
fore, to keep you apprised of the continued
effect on my hair, as I assure all who enquire
of me of my unshaken opinion of its valuable
results. 1 remain, dear sir, yours,
A. C. RAYMOND
Prof. O. J. Wood: Dear Sir. I would cer
tainly be doing you a great injustice not lo
make known to the world, the wonderful, as
well as the unexpected result I have expe
rienced from using one bottle of your Hair
Reetor..tive. After using every kind of Re
storatives extant, but without success, and
finding my head nearly destitute of hair, I
was finally induced to try a bottle of your
Hair Restorative. Now, candor and justice
compel me to announce to whoever may read
this, that I now possess a new and beautiful
growth of hair, which T pronounce richer and
handsomer than the original was. I will
here take occasion to recommend this valu-
, able-remedy to al! who may feel the necessi
ty of il. Respectfully yours,
REV. S. ALLEN BROCK.
P. S. This testimonial of my approbation
for your valuable medicine (as you are aware
of) is unsolicited: out if you think it worthy
a piace among the rest, insert if yon wish;
if not destroy and say nothing.
Yours, &.C.. Rev. S. A. B.
The Restorative is put up in bottles of
three sizes, viz: large, medium, and small;
the small holds a pint, and retails for one
dollor per bottle; the medium holds at least
twenty per cent, more in proportion thsn the
small, retails for two dollars per bottle; the
large holds a quart, 40 per cent, more in pro
portion, and retails for $3.

Da. X C. Ater : Sir. I cheerfully comply with tho r
quest of your agent, nnd report to you some of tho eflects
x nave realized wun jour oariparuiii.
1 have cured with it. in mv practice, most of tho com-
plaints for which it is recommended, and havo fmnd its
effects truly wonderful in the euro of Vrnerrul nnd Mer
curial Disease. Ono of my patients had Syphilitic ulcers
in his throat, which were consuming his palate and the
top of his mouth. Your Sarsaparilla, steadily taken,
cured him in live weeks. Another was attacked by sec
ondary symptoms in hii nose, and the ulceiation hud
eaten "away a considerable part of it, so that I believe the
disorder would soon reach his braiu and kill him. Hut it
yielded to my administration of your Sarsaparilla: the
ulcers healed, and he is well again, not of courso without
some disfiguration to his face. A woman who had been
treated for the tamo disorder by mercury was buffering
from this poison in her bone. They had become so s-cn-sitive
to tho wtather that on iv damn day bhe Buffered ex
cruciating pain in her joints and bones. She, tto, was
cured entirely by your Sarsaiiarilla in a few weeks. I
know from its formula, which your agent gave me, that
this Preparation from your laboratory must be a great
remedy; consequently, tlieso truly reinarKaUiu results
with it nave not surprised, me
