RESTORING
THE BALD AND GRAY.
Many, since the great discovery of Prof
Wood, have attempted not only to imitate
1iis restorative, but proless to have discovered
something thai would produce results iden
tical; but they have all come and gone, be
inf carried awav bv the wonderful results of
Prof. Wood's preparation, arrd have been
forced to leave the lield to its resistless sway.
Read the following:
Bash, Maine, April 18th, 1859.
Prof. 0. J. Wood & Co: Gents.: The Id
ler I wrote you in 185G concerning your val
uable Hair Restorative, and which you have
published in this vicinity and elsewhere, has
given rise to numerous enquiries touching
the lacts in the case. The enquiries are,
first, is it a fact of my habitation and name,
ss slated in the communication; second, is it
true-ofall therein contait ed; third, dues my
hair still continue to be in good order and of
natural color 1 To all I can and do answer
invariably yes. My hair is even better than
in any stage of my life for 40 yours pust,
more solt, thrifty, and better colored ; the
same is true of my whiskers, and the only
cause why it is not generally true, is that the
substance is washed off by trcquent ablution
of the face, when if care were used by wi
ping the face in close connection with the
whiskers, the same result will follow as tbe
hair. I have been in the receipt of a greal
number of letters from all parts of New Eng
land, asking me if my hair still continues to
be good ; as there is so much fraud in the
manufacture and sale of Various compounds
as well as this, l has, no doubt been bnsely
imitated and been used, nol only without any
good effect, but to absolule. injury. I have
not. used any of your Restorative of any ac
count for some months, and yet my hair is as
pood as ever, and hundreds have examined it
with surprise, as I am now Gl years old and
not a gray hair in my head or on my face;
and to prove this fact, I send you a lock of
my hair taken off the past week. I received
your favor of two quart bottles last summer,
for which I am very grateful: I gave il to
my friends and thereby induced them to try
it, many were skeptical until after trial, and
:hen purchased and used it with universal
success. I will ask a favor, that you send
me a test by which I can discover fraud n.
the Restorative, .sold by many, 1 fear, with
out authority from you. A pure article will
insure success, and I believe where good ef
fects do nut follow, the failure is cau.-ed by
the impure article, which curses the inventor
of tbe good. I deem it uiy duty as hereto
fore, to keep you apprised of the continued
effect on my hair, as I assure all who enquire
of me of my unshaken opinion of its valuable
results. 1 remain, dear sir, yours,
A. C. RAYMOND
- Prof. O.J. Wood: Dear Sir. I would cer
tainly ie doing you a greal injustice not to
make known to the world, the wonderful, as
well as the unexpected result I have expe
rienced from usinji one bottle of your Hair
Re.-tor..tive. After using every kind of Re
storatives extant, but without success, and
finding my head nearly destitute of hair, I
was finally induced to try a bottle of your
fl.iir Restorative. Now, candor and justice
compel me to announce to whoever may read
this, thai I now possess a new and beautiful
growth of hair, which I pronounce richer and
handsomer than llit original . was. I will
here take occasion to recommend this valu
able remedy to all who may feel ihe necessi
ty of il. Respectfully yours,
REV. S. ALLEN BROCK.
P. S. This testimonial of my approbation
for your valuable medicine (as you are aware
of) is unsolicited: but if you think it worlhy
a piace among the rest, insert if yon wish;
if not destroy and say nothing.
Yours, &c. Rev. S. A. B.
The Restorative is put up in bottles of
tliree sizes, viz: large, medium, and small;
the small holds a pint, and retails for one
dollar per bottle; the medium holds at least
twenty per cent, more in proportion tht:n the
small, retails for two dollars per bottle; the
Ijrge holds a qmirt, 40 per cent, more in pro
portion, and retails for $3.

Dr. J. C. Atf.r: Sir, I cheerfully comply with the re
quest of your agent, nnd report to you some of the effects
1 have realized with your S.ir.-aparilla.
I have cured with it, in my practice, most of the com
plaints for which it is recommended, and have found its
effects truly wonderful in the euro of Vrntreal ami Mer
curial Vis'itsc. One of my patients had Syphiliiic ulcers
in his throat, which were consuming his palate and tho
top of his mouth. Your Sarsaparilla, steadily taken,
cured him in live weeks. Another as attacked by ntc:
ondary suuptoius in his nose, aud the ulceration had
eaten away a considerable part of it, so that 1 believe tho
disoider would soon leach hjs brain and kill him. But it
yielded to my administration of your Sarsaparilla: iho
ulcers healed. and he is well again, not of course without
somedisfiguratiou to his face. A woman who had been
treated for the same disoider by meicury was buffeting
from this poison in her bones. They had become so sen
sitive to the weather that on a damp day she suffered ex
cruciating pain in her joints and bouts. She, t o, was
cured entirely by your frarsapaiillu in a few weeks. I
know from its formula, which your agent gate me, that
this Preparation from your laboratory must boa gieut
remedy; consequently, these tiuly lemaikublu results
with it have not sin prised me.
