Catarrh.! Catarrh!! Catarrh!!! Catarrh!!!!
What is it? How Cured?
Thousands of persons suffer all sorts of an
noyances from Catarrh. Most people know
what its inconvenience and results are, yet
but few know how it can be curi'd. Il is
simply a chronic irritation, and often enlarge
ment of follicles and consequent thickening
of the mucous membrane, lining the nasal
cavities, frontal -linuses, and sometimes ex
tending into the throat and lungs. From
this result lightness and often vertigo of the
head, obstructed nose, or a profuse flow of
mucus, loss of smell, nasal voice, and often
impaired-hearing and tatte.
The old-school remedies have never been
ble to do any thing for it. Nasal injections
and inhalations are as painful and expensive
as they are generally worthless, Yet Hum
phreys' Catarrh Specific, a simple Sugar
Pill, taken two or three times per day,
promptly cures the milder cases; cures at
once all colds in the head, and radically cures
by persevering use, the most obstinate cases,
as is proved by the experience of hundreds.

We callihe attention oJUie reader to the following
letter from President Smith, of Wesleyan University:
Middletown, Conn., Feb. 23, 1859.
SETH W. Fowle Sc. Co. Gentlemen: I first
made use of tho Oxygenated Bitters somo seven or
eight years since. Having suffered for twenty years
from a form of dyspepsia, which waa attended with a
nervous headache, on an avcrago of not less than one
day in a week, I was induced, by tho unpretending rec
ommendation of Dr. Grcon, " to try one bottle, and if
no benefit was received to discontinue tho use."
Tho uso of ono bottlo warranted a further trial, to tho
extent of some threo or four, with a careful observance
of the accompanying directions. Tho result was, an
almost entire rolief from tho usual dyspeptic symptoms
and their depressing, painful consequences. I believo
theso Bitters produced an ontiro change in tho habits of
my system, and upon tho activo energies of tho digestivo
organs. I now deem myself as exempt from Dyspepsia
as most persons. These Bitters have also been of ser
vice to other members of my family.
Very respectfully yours,
AUGUSTUS W. SMITH.

Messrs. Setii U. Fowle i Co.,
Genu : I was, for many years, .a great sufferer from
Dyspepsia or Watorbrash, and tried almost everything
within my roach, but to no benefit, until I was induced
by tho recommendation of my physician, Dr. Hazolton,
to make uso of tltd Oxygenated Bitters. Tbo first bottlo
produced but a slight alteration in tho disease, and had
it not been for the urgent rcmicst of my physician, I
hcmld then have discontinued their use, thinking thenl
to bo of no avail ; but lsU confidence inspired me to per
severe, and after usiug to tho extent ot half a dozen bot
tles, I had entirely regained my health. I hopo all
Dyspeptic persons will bo induced, to give tliom a fair
trial, boing confident that the remedy is the most potont,
for tho various forms of Dyspepsia, that has been pro
duced. Yours, .

Universal Confidence & Patronage
For Statesmen', Judges, Clergymen, Ladies

Gentlemen: Your note of the loth instant
has been received, saying that you had heard
that 1 had been benefitted by the ut-e of
Wood's Hair Restorative, and requesting my
certificate of the fact if i had no objection to'
give it.
1 award it to you cheerfully, because T
think it is due. IJy age is about 50 years
the color of my hair auburn, and inclined to
curl. Some five or six yeara since it began
to turn gray, and the scalp on the crown of
my head to lose its sensibility and dandruff
to form upon it. Each of theac disagreeabil
itie3 increased with time, and about four
months since a fourth was added to them, by
hair falling off the top of my head and threat
ening to make me bald.
Iu this unpleasant predioamcnt, i was in
duced to try Wood's Hair Restorative, tnuiii-
y to arrest the falling oft of my hair, for I
had really no expectation that gray hair could
ever be restored in its original color except
rem dyes. I was, however, greatly surpris
ed to find after the use of two buttles only,
that not only was the falling: ofr arrested, but
the color was restored tu the gruv hairs ami
sensibility to the scalp, and dandruff ceased
to form on my head, very much to the grati
fication of my wife, at whose solicitation I
was induced to try it.
For this, among the many obligations I
owe to her sex, I strongly recommend all hus
bands who value the admiration ot their
wives to profit by my example, and use it if
growing gray or getting bald. Very re
spectfully, BEN. A. LAVENDER.

and by a resort to your "Hair Restorative,
the hair will return more beautiful than ever;
at least this is my experience. Believe it alii
