A compouid remedy, in which wc have labored
to produce1 the niot effectual alterative that can
be made. ' It is a concentrated extract of Para
Sarsapavilla, s-o combined with orner substances
of still greater :;I;crativc power as to afford an
effective antidote for the diseases Sarsnpurilla is
reputed to cure. It is believed that such a rem
edy is wanted hy those who suffer from Stru
mous complaints, and that one which will ac
complish their euro must prove of immense ser
vice tothis large class of our afflicted fellow
citizensi How completely tliis compound will
do it life been proven by experiment on many
of the worst Ciises to be found of the following
complaints :
ScirrLA ad Scrofui-ocs Complaints,
Enui'Sioxs and Ekuptivk Dieasus, TJl-CEnsriMPi-ns,
ELOTcur-, Tumors, Salt
lliiurjji, Scali Head, Syphilis and SYrin
LiTid Affkctioxs, lLnnconiAL Disease,
Ditorsv, Neuralgia or Tic DouLOunicAnx,
Deuility, DYSl'El'SIA axd Ixdigestion,
Erysipelas, Hose, or St. Anthony's Eire,
and indeed the whole class of complaints arising
froni Impurity oi' the Blood.
Tiis compound will be found n -great pro
moter of health, when taken in the spring, to cx
peljtlio foul humors which fester in the blood at
thai seaon of tiro year. By the timely expul
sion of them many rankling disorders are nipped
in the bud. Multitudes can, by the aid of this
remedy, spare themselves from the- endurance of
fonl eruptions and ulcerous sores, through which
the system will strive to rid it elf of corruptions,
if not assisted to do this through the natural
channels of tho body by an alterative medicine.
Gleanso out the vitiated blood whenever you
find its impurities bursting through the skin in
pimples, eruptions, or sores ; cleanse it when
you find it is obstructed and sluggish in the
veins ; cleanse it whenever it is foul, and your
hx'lings will tell you when. Even where no
partiiuhir disorder is felt, people enjoy better
f.iealth, and live lonsjer, for cleansing the blood.
Hvccn the blood bealthv, and all is well: but
pwiih tiiis pabulum of life disordered, thero can
be no lasting health, booncr or later something
must go wrong, and the great machinery of life
is disordered or overthrown.
Sarsaparillahas, and deserves much, the repu
tation of accomplishing the.-o ends. But the
world has been egrpgiously deceived by prepara
tions ot it, partly because the drug alone Las not
all the virtue tlmt is claimed for it, but more be
cause many preparations, .pretending to be con
centrated extracts of it, contain but little of the
virtue cf Sarsnparilla, or any thing else.
During late years the public have been mislec'
by large kittles, pretending to give a quart ot
Extract of Sarsaparilla for one dohar. Most of
these have been frauds upon the sick, for they
not only contain little, if any, Sarsaparilla, but
often no curative properties whatever. Hence,
bitter and painful disappointment has followed
the use of the various extracts of Sarsaparilla
which Hood the market, until the name itself is
justly despised, and has become synonymous
with imposition and client, bull wc call tlu
compound Sarsaparilla, and intend to supp'y
such a remedy as shall rescue the name from t:.
load of obloquy which rcts upon it. And wi
think wc have ground for believing it has vi;
tucs which are irresistible by the ordinary run ot
the diseases it is intended "to cure. In order to
secure their complete eradication from the sys
tern, the remedy should be judiciously taken ac
cflrding to directions on the bottle.

llaminonlon Lands, in anoiher cu-Unim,
Scrofula, or King's Evil,
is a constitutional disease, a corruption of tho
blood, by which this fluid becomes vitiated,
Weak, and poor. Being in the circulation, it
pervades the whole body, mid may hurst out in
disease on any part of it. !No opm is free from
its attacks, nor is there one which it may not
destroy. Tho scrofulous taint is variously caused
by mercurial disease, low living, disordered or
unhealthy food, impure air, tilth, and filthy
habits, tho deprcsimr vices, and. above all. SV
the venereal infection. "Whatever be its origin.
it is hereditary in tho constitution, descendiifg
"from parents to children unto the third nifd
fourth generatio:! ; " indeed, i: seems to bc tbc
rod of Him who says, "I will visit the iuifmitfes
of the fathers upon their children."
Its effects commence by dej osition from tbc
blood of corrupt or ulveibtLs matter, which, in
tho lungs, liycr, and internal Or-ans, Ls termed
tubercles ; in the glands, swellings ; and' on tlio
surface, eruptions or i-ores. This foul corrup
tion, which genders in the blood, depresses tho
energies of life, to that scrofulous constitutions
not only sutler from scrofulous complaints, but
they have far less power to withstaud the attacks
of other diseases: consequently, vast numbers
perish by disorders whh-h, although not scrofu
lous in 'their nature are still rendered fatal by
this taint in the system. Most of the consump
tion which decimates the human family has its
origin directly in this scrofulous contaminntioft ;
and many destructive diseases of the liver, kid
neys, brain, and, indeed, of all the organs, arise
from or arc aggravated by the same cause.
One quarter of all our people are scrofulous :
their persons arc invaded bv this lurking infec
tion, and their health is undermined by it. To
cleanse it from the svsiem we must renovate the
blood bv an alterative medicine, and invigorate
it by healthy food mid exercise. Such, a mcdi

belief in " impurity of the blood," is founded in

Ayer's Cathartic Pills,
FOR ALL THE PURPOSES OF A FAMILY PHYSIO,
are so composed that disease within the range of
their action can rarely withstand or evade thera.
Their penetrating properties search, and cleanse,
and invigorate every portion of the human or
ganism, correcting its diseased action, and restor
ing its healthy vitalities. As a consequence of
these proneitics, the invalid who is bowed down
with pain or physical debility is astonished to
unit his health or energy restored ny a rcmeuy
at once so simple and inviting.
Not only do they cure the evcry-day com
plaints of every body, but also many formidable
ami dangerous diseases. The agent below named
is pleased to furnish gratis my American Alma
nac, containing certificates ot their cures, anil
directions for their use in the following com
plaints : Costiveness, x ieartburn, Headache aris
iny from a disordered &io...jh, Nattfra, Indiges
tion, Pain in and Morbid Iitartton of tht Bowels,
Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, Jaundice, and other
kindred complaints, arising from a low state of
the body or obstruction of its functions.
Ayer's Cherry Pectoral,
POR THE IL.VPID CURE OF
Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Hoarseness,
Cronp, Bronchitis, Incipient Consump
tion, and for the relief of Consumptive
Patienta in advanced stages of the dis
ease. So wide is the field of its nsefnlncss, and so
numerous arc the cases of its cures, that almost
even section of country abounds in persons,
publicly known, who have been restored from
alarming and even desperate diseases of the
lungs by its use. When once tried, its superi
ority over every other medicine of its kind is too
apparent to escape observation, and where its
virtues are known, the public no longer hesitate
what antidote to employ for the di trussing' and
dangcaous affections of the pulmonary organs
that are incident to our climate. While many
inferior remedies thrust upon the commimity
have failed and been discarded, this has gained
friends by every trial, conferred benefits on the
afllictcd they can never forget, and produced
cures too numerous and too remarkable to bo
forgotten.
