A PROCLAMATION
TO THE LADIES,
Whereas, it appears that llie days of right,
honor, and integrity are fV.tt fading away,
and whereas, the unscrupulous and ignorant
arc daily taking advantage of the profound
and Icfirned. Bt;t it known therefore, to all,
whether Maids, Wives, or Widows, that Dr
Checsmaii's Female I'ills are alone ihe cer
tain panacea for the troubles incident to fe
mnle disorganization; they alone correcting
all painful menstruation, assuaging pulpila
tionsofthe heart, disturbed sleep, pain in the
side, and causing health and huppincssrto the
whole sex; more especially to the married
portion, as they are certain to bring on tlie
monthly period with regularity. And where
as, those Pills arc purely vegetable and en
tirely free from minerals, therefore perfectly
harmless in their operations and wholly un
like other medicines thrust upon the public,
purporting to effect the objects already de
tailed. Therefore, be it known, that nothing
but the said Pills of Dr. Uieesman will ac-
bomplish the desired object, when disappoint
ment has been experienced tinder the regime
of other Pills; and the Ladies will cause
this Proclamation to spread amongst them, to
their own everlasting benefit always preiui
feinr that said Proclamation in one case must
be considered null and void; that is to say,
that the Pills must not be taken when any
female is in an interesting situation, other
wise a miscarriage will be the inevitable re
sult. Explicit directions, to be carefully read,

For the year past we been advertising the

seeing the advertisement of the article in
the Gazette, was induced to try it, and
now, after the uso of two bottles only, his
hair has turned quite dark, and is very

bald spots covered with a beautiful growth
of silky dark hair, the sitht of which,
with his commendation of the Restora

November 19, 1857. $
Prof. O. J. Wood Dear Sir : Some time
last summer we were induced to use some of
your Hair Restorative, and its effect were so
wonderful, we feel it our duty to you and the
afflicted, to report it.
Our little son's head for some time had
been perfectly covered with sores, and some
called it scald head. The hair almost en
tirely came off in consequence, when a friend,
seeing his sufferings, advised us to use your
Restorative, we did so with little hope of sue
cess, but to our surprise, and that of all our
friends, a very few applications removed the
disease entirely, and a new and luxuriant
crop of hair soon started out, and we can now
say that our boy has as healthy a sealp, and
as luxuriant a crop of hair as any other child.
We can, therefore, and do hereby, recom
mend your Restorative, as a perfect remedy
for all diseases of the scalp and hair. We
are yours respectfully,
GEO. W. HIGGINBOTHAN,
SARAH A. HIGGINBOTHAM.
Prof. Wood Dear Sir : My hair had, for
several years, been becoming prematurely
gray, accompanied by a harshness which ren
dered the constant application of oil necessa
ry in dressing it. When I commenced us
ing your Hair Restorative abouttwo months
ago it was in that condition; and having con
tinued its use till within the last three weeks,
it has turned to its natural color, and assumed
a softness and lustre greatly to be preferred
to those produced by the application of oils
or any other preparation I have ever used.
1 regard it as an indispensable article for eve
ry lady's toilet, whether to be used as a Hair

Prof. Wood Dear Sir : By the advfee of
a inend ot mine, who had been using your
Hair Restorative, I was induced to try it. I
had the fever, some time last May, and nearly-every
hair in my head came'out. Now
my hair has come in a great deal thicker
than ever it was. Nothing but a duty and
sympathy that I feel to communicate to oth
ers who are afflicted as I have been, would
induce me to give this public acknowledge
ment of the benefit I have received from Prof.
Wood's Hair Restorative. Yours respectful
ly, t A. R. JACOBS.
The Restorative is put up in bottles of three
sizes, viz :' large, medium, and small ; the
small holds a pint, and retails for one dol
lar per botlle; the medium holds at least 20
per cent more in proportion than the small,
retails for two dollars per bottle; the large
holds a quart, 40 per cent, more in proportion,
and retails for 83 a hotlle.
