Most per sons know the danger and folly of trusting their work to the ignorant as well as the traveling dentist. These Pills, the result of long investigation and studv, arc ofFcrcdto the public as the best airf. most complete which the present state of medica science can afford. They are compounded not of the drucs themselves, but of the medicinal virtue onlv of Vegetable remedies, extracted by chemu-a process in a state of purity, and combined together in such a manner as to insure the best results. 1 hi svstcm of composition for medicines has been foiim in the Cherrv Pectoral and Pills both, to produce : more efficient remcdv than had hitherto been ob taincd by anv process. The reason is perfectly ob vious. While by the old mode of composition, ever; medicine is burdened with more or less of af-ri monious and injurious qualities, by this each mdi vidual virtue only that is desired for the curatm effect is present. All the inert and obnoxious qual ities of each substance employed are left behind, the curative virtues onlv being retained. Hence it is self-evident the effects should prove as they ha-. proved more purely remedial, and the Pills a surer more powerful antidote to disease than any otlici medicine known to the world. As it is frequently expedient that my medicine should be taken under the counsel of an atWndinp Phvsician, and as he could not properly judge of ? remedy without knowing its composition, I have supplied the accurate Formula: by which both mj Pectoral and Pills are made to the whole body of Practitioners in the L mted States ana unron Amer ican Provinces. Rv&Csi the attention o Stromlsbur? a IMPORTANT DISCOVER CONSUMPTION " AND ALL -tv Diseases of the Luna:s and Throat ARE POSITIVELY n CURABLE BY INHALATION,. - Which conveys the remedies to the cavities I n the lungs through the air passages, and'. coming in direct contact with the' disease r neutralizes the tubercular matter, allays the cough, causes a tree and easy expectoration, . teals the lungs, ourines the blood, imparter renewed vitality to the nervous system, giv- ng that tone and energy so indispensable' for the restoration of health. To be able to slatef. confidently that Consumption is curable, by inhalation,- is to me a source of unalloyed pleasure. It is much under the control of medical treatment as any other formidable-" disease; ninety out of ex cry hundred cbscb can be cured in tne hrst btuges, and frffy per cent, in the second; but in the third stage ii is impossible to save more than five per cei'uV for the Lungs are so cut up by the disease a to bid defiance to medical skill. Even, how ever, in the last stages, Inhalation affords ex traordinary relief to the sufierinr attending!' this learful scourge, which annually desffoyif ninety-five thousand persons in the United States alone; and a correct calculation shown that of the present population of the earth, eighty millions are destined to fill the con sumptive's graves. 1 ruly the quiver of death has no arrow so fatal as Consumption. In all ages it has been the great enemy of life, for it spares neither' age nor sex, but sw-eepa off alike the brave,- the beautiful, the graceful and the gifted. By the help of that Supreme Being from whoia- cometh every good and perfect gift, I am en abled to oner to theafiheted a permanent anil speedy cure in Consumption. The first cause of tubercles is from impure blood, and the im mediate effect produced by their deposition in the lungs is to prevent the free admission of air into the air cells, which causes a wca-- kened vitality through the entire system.- Then surely it is more rational to- expect, greater good from medicines entering- the cavities of the lunj-s than from those admin istered through the stomach; the patient will' always find the lungs free and the breathing easy, after Inhaling remedies. Thus, Inhu halation is a local remedy, nevertheless it acta constitutionally, and with more power and certainty than remedies administered by the stomach. To prove the powerful and direct influence of this mode of administration, chlo roform inhaled will entirely destroy sensibil ity in u few minutes, paralyzing the entire nervous system, so that a limb may be ampu tated without the slightest pain; inhaling the ordinary burning gas will destroy life in & few hours. The inhalation of ammonia will rouse the syetetn when fainting or apparently dead. The odor of many of the medicines is percep tible in the skin a few minutes after being in haled, and may be immediately detected iu the blood, A convincing proof of the consti tutional effects of inhalation, is the fact that sickness is always produced by breathing fonl air is not this positive evidence thnt proper remedies, carefully prepared and judiciously administered through the lumrs should pro ducp the happiest results? During eighteen years" practice, many thousands sufieriii'j from diseases of the lungs and ihroat, have been under my care, and I have efiected many remarkable cures, even alter the sufferers have been pronounced in the last stages-, which fully satisfies me that consumption in no longer a fatal disease. My treatment of consumption is original, and founded on lonj: experience and a thorough investigation. My perfect acquaintance with the nature of tuber- cles, &c., enables me to distinguish, rendtly, the various forms of disease that mul.te con sumption, and apply the proper rernrdie?,fa je ly being mistaken even in a singfe case. Thii familiarity, in connection with certain patho logical and microscopic discoveries, enables me to relieve the lungs from the effects of contracted chests, to enlarge the chest, puri fy the blood, impart to it renewed vitality, giving energy and tone to the entire system- Medictnes with full directions sent to any part of the United States and Canadas pa- tients communicating their symptoms by ler tcr. But the cure would be more certain if the patient should pay me a visit, which would give me an opportunity to examine the lungs and enable me to prescribe with much. greater certainty, and then the cure could he- effected without my seeing lhi patient again.- G.
