Twenty-two deaths have occurred out of a population of 1000, and its inhabitants have mostly left the place. The deceased was truly one of "nature's noblemen." Possessed of great kindness of heart, and a willingness to assist his fellows, he enjoyed the love of all whoJ knew him to a degree seldom attained by man. In his death his family, his friends, his neighbors, and the community iu which he lived, have met with an irrepar able loss. Ilis exemplary conduct as a man, however, is an assurance that our loss is heaven's gain that one so honest, so kind, so good, so much respected upon earth, was well fitted for a companion ship with angels in heaven.
