Cholera rages in Georgetown, Missouri.
Twenty-two deaths have occurred out of
a population of 1000, and its inhabitants
have mostly left the place. The disease
lias also appeared in Morgan, Ohio, and
several cases have occurred in Cincinnati.

New York, July 17. Cotton market
Unsettled. Flour is a trifle lower. Sales

ern at 810,75. Wheat is also a trifle low
er; sales 3000 bushels. Western white

bushels at 91. Pork is unsettled; sales

The deceased was truly one of "nature's
noblemen." Possessed of great kindness
of heart, and a willingness to assist his
fellows, he enjoyed the love of all whoJ
knew him to a degree seldom attained by
man. In his death his family, his friends,
his neighbors, and the community iu
which he lived, have met with an irrepar
able loss. Ilis exemplary conduct as a
man, however, is an assurance that our
loss is heaven's gain that one so honest,
so kind, so good, so much respected upon
earth, was well fitted for a companion

Be it enacted by the Chief Burgess
ana Uommom Council of the Borough oi
Stroudsburg, and it is hereby enacted by
tho authority of the same.
That Franklin Street be graded, paved
wun gooa brick, and curbed with stone
on both sides of sakl street, from Eliza
beth street to Monroe street, and around
the public buildings on said street, by the
ursc uay ot August next. The same to
bo done under the direction of the Town
Council, and according to tho survey
as to height and width made by the
said Council.
And further, If any person or persons
owning property on said franklin street,
neglect or refuse to have the same graded,
paved and curbed iu pursuance of the a-
bovc enactment, within the time therein
specified, thesaid Council after the espira
tion of the said time, will have tho same
done at the expense of said owners of prop
crty according to the act of Assembly, in
such case made and provided.
Be it enacted by the Chief Burgess and
Common Council of the Borough of
Stroudsburg, and it is hereby enacted by
the authority ot the same,
That the south side of Elizabeth street,
trom Jacob btrcct to the lower end of the
lot now occupied by John Boys, be era
ded, paved with good brick, and curbed
with stone on or before the first day of
September uext. The same to he done
under the direction of the Town Council,
and according to the survey as to
height and width made by the said Coun
cil.
Aud further, If any persons or persons
owning property on the south side of said
Elizabeth street, from said Jacob street
to the lower corner of said lot now occu
pied by John Boys, refuse to . have the
same graded, paved and curbed in pur
suance of the above enactment, and with
in the time therein specified, the Town
Council, after the expiration of the said
time, will have the same done at the ex
pense of said property owners, according
to the Act of Assembly, in such case made
and provided.
