On the night of the 5th of November, 1953.
n man by the name of Isaac Brown, abscon
ded from Strondsborg, taking with him a
voung girl about 17 years old, with whom
it is supposed he is cohabiting. The said
JJrown is 33 years old, about 5 five feet 10
inches in height, light cooiplexioned. sandy
hair and is trossed eyed eyes light blue
and formtrlv a icsident of Bioom County.
N. Y. He is a School Teacher, professes to
be a Baptist and occasionally turns preacher
The young girl, whom he enticed away, is
about 5 Jeet one inch in height, rather slen
ders dark hair and grey eyes, and has an
impediment in her tpeech.
The said Isaac Brown left a wife and two
children in Stcoudsburg. The above reward
will be paid for the apprehension and deliv
ery of said Brown at Stroudsburg, or 15
dollars for his arrest and delivery in any
County Jail, upo information being given
of this fact to the undersigned.

OFFICE TO PROCURE
By a recent Act of Congress it is enacted.
That each of the surviving, or the widow or
minor children of deceased commissioned and
noncommissioned officers, musicians, or pri
vates, whether of regulars, volunteers, rang
ers or militia, who performed military ser
vices in any regiment, company or detach
ment in the service of the United Slates, in
the war with Great Britian, declared by the
United States on the eighteenth day of Juno
1819, or in any of the Indian wars since 170O
and each of the commissioned officers who
was engaged in the military service of the
United Stales in the late war with Mexico,
and shall be entitled to lands as follows :
Those who engaged to serve twelve
months or during the war, and actnaiiy
served nine months, shall recrive one hun
dred and sixtvaciss: and those who engaged
to serve six months and actually served lour
months, shall receive eighty acres; and
those who engaged to serve for any or an
indefinite period, and actually served one
month, shall receive forty acres. Provided,
that wherever any officer or soldier was
qonorably discharged in consequence of dis
ability in the service, he shall receive the a
mount to which he would have been entitled
if he had served ths full psriod for which ho
had engaged to serve.
Under the above act, and the acts of Con
gress generally, the subscriber oilers his ser
vices as a;cnlto procure Land Warrants ibr
those entitled to receive them, as above spe
