gives evidence of a decline, it is very difficult
to effect sMen, as buyers are always disposed
to hold back in anticipation of a still further
decline. and w hen the market turns the other
way there is the same difficulty with sellers—
they, too, hold off In hopes of it stilt furthei
advance. It is thie the decline during the
past two or three
.days has not been very
great, but the number of new strikes reported
recently hue created the impression that the
production is rapidly increasing, and su long
as this feeling prevails. the "bearish" element
will continue to predominate.
